This is what I heard but I didn't research it. Hitler instituted the day to honor women and mothers. It was a big celebratory day with each mother awarded a medal of sorts depending on how many children she had. He wanted honorable marriages and strong families.

Why JWs don't celebrate Mother's day
by Laika inin the uk, this sunday is mother's day!
ask a jw why they don't celebrate holidays and they'll tell you it's because of some nefarious pagan connection.
but this is really just a cover.

Jehovah is evil
by cookiemaster ingoing to the meetings and hearing them say how loving is our god disgusts me.
jehovah is actually a mass murdered.
there's an interesting website called evilbible.com, were all god's murders are listed.

Jehovah-Yahweh has to be evil. Most of us have separated ourselves from the weekly mind-controlling stuff we got at the meetings. Now that we've settled a little, we can use our heads to see what has happened. If the Bible was written to control mankind then it has succeeded. And don't people imitate their God? The horrific destruction of Hamburg, Germany in the 40's prove that. And Eisenhower's orders to put German soldiers in a fenced-in meadow to die in starvation and thirst AFTER the war was over is as bad as the stories in Bible. They utterly destroyed Dresden and Berlin. People have said that Berlin was more beautiful than Paris. Yes, I know they were at war, but my god, did they have to fire bomb women, children and old people for a week? I, for one, think we need to get rid of this desert God. We were doing just fine until he came on the scene, then we get world war 1, world war 2, and headed for world war 3!

CultBgone - did you have a nice day today? What did you do, exactly. I really am interested. I left the cult about a year ago, and just can't believe I was so fooled for 40 years-embarrassed too. I do miss the routine of service and meetings, but it is so nice not to have to hussle around and get ready. Now I am going to festivals and yard sales, and that makes me happy. Things that I can look at and enjoy without having to spend too much money. During the evenings, I've been going online and I've been finding out many things about JW, and Christianity in general, and I think they're all a fraud.
Gracie, what do you mean you hope you'll kick the bucket soon. Please write us and teach us some of your wonderful knowlege of things that you have built up over the years. And, for your dementia- as you call it. One of the many wonderful cures is coconut oil-the pure kind-the kind that is solid at room temperature, but melts easily. You need to work up to taking up to 11 tablespoons a day. The brain is not getting the sugar it needs, and coconut oil will enter and feed it. Write us and tell us about a happy thing you did lately. It's so nice to have you all. Love you.

Welcome, ML. We were told that the WTBT never said that 1975 was THE end when we know they darn well did. I think it was a big scam to get the brothers to sell all their belongings and send the money to them. Shortly, the Stanley Theatre was bought and renovalted. Hmmmmm.

Will firing the DOs be the first step to a new Watchtower?
by Juan Viejo2 inagainst my better judgement, i've decided to share the following as a response to guy pierce passing and the announcement of the elimination of district overseers later this year.. late in january (2014) i got an email from one of my contacts (a fader) who served at bethel for several years, but is no longer at wt hq.
he still has a lot of close contacts within the service department and in other departments at patterson and knows people in all of the ny offices.
i kept this email set aside on a flash drive and haven't shared it with anyone - figuring i'd publish an article about it later this year when i had more time to do it right.
