  i don't understand why so many ex jws and faders think that the jws will continue to grow and thrive as a religion.

  i still attend a meeting once a week and you can smell the death of the religion creeping up when you hear the talks, read the study wts and hear the letters from the gb.

  the way the organization has changed is a sign that it reached its peak (in "healthy" membership) long ago.

  Lambsbottom, why do you think that is? I think it's dying too. Yesteryear had interesting talks, the Watchtower and Awake were interesting and informative, and the Thursday night meetings had alot of assignments to look up and study. Then it got so flimsy and the rehashed information was so boring. I'm glad I'm out, and I really resent the 40 years I spent wasting my life dedicated to that false, closely controlled religion. My advice to any lurkers-don't give that religion one red cent, not one. They're a greedy, money hungry land-grabbing organization.

  YHWH does too much killing-men, women, children. On and on and on. And Jesus was with him before he came to the earth so he is just like him, I think. I know he's portrayed as kind, humble, turn the other cheek guy, but all that propaganda was written to control the masses-us. Most people don't like Gods that are war-like. Since Christianity spread there have been so many wars. Especially in this last century. World War 1, World War2, gearing up for World War 3. And the sadistic murders that were pulled off are more like what Satan would do. Sand between my toes? Ha ha-well, there's always the beach.

  I certainly understand! One of these days, I'm going to do some research on how women were treated in the Bible. Of course they were property of the male and were under their whim, so why would we not think that under Gods kingdom things would change. Just think. ETERNITY like that?

That will be hard to tend to the children and a garden like that, but touching his privates are more important than her hands. No apology accepted; no court case. Plunk, they're off.

  But your Daddy will take care of you------------that is until he brings home a couple of georgeous hunks from town. Then if other townsfolk bang on his door stating they want sex with them, he'll the offer the girls to them-you. A virgin girl offered to a horde of sex-crazed lunatics.

  Hasn't every, well, almost every kid when the hormones were raging, spouted off to their parents? I have. If I'd have lived back then with this desert Gods rule, my parents would have to have taken me out and stoned me to death. I suspect there weren't too many teenagers left. Again, no apology, no court case.

  The Chinese Military

  every year since i started my china studies program, i've noted western pollies asking for the chinese government to be more transparent in regard to the chinese military.. i'm not quite sure what 'being transparent' means, does it mean giving the west access to all military secrets?

  during my recent visit to china i can't recall seeing one soldier.. but, due to the cica - asian security conference, held in shanghai while i was in china, there were lots of extra police on the streets, maybe because the russian president putin attended.

  but the most exciting thing to happen was (apparently) the finalisation of negotiations on the supply of russian energy to china.

  Unbalanced way of thinking?

  so, one hot beautiful (not a cloud in the sky) kind of summer day, there was an elder who decided to re shingle his house.

  this was on the book study day.

  he started early and got all the shingles off of the roof in time for the book study that night.

  wouldn't it be great to see the big 8, wel the big 8 in the jw world not the national leaders big 8, ehem.. if they would all grow a beard for the next business meeting in october, where the nu-lite(r) is that beards are ok for men.. could someone photoshop one of the prevalent new smiley photos of the gb and put a few weeks of whisker growth on them?.

  just wondering what it would look like.

  not duck dynasty length, perhaps, but nicely trimmed full beards, or maybe goatees.. what do you think it would look like?

  Hmmmmm. I wonder if molestation of a child is o.k. then. You know, there is not an ethnic group, a country or a peoples that don't hold the moral standard that some things are worthy of death, molestation of a child being one of them.
