Besides having to sit through endless boring meetings during the evenings when they should be in bed getting their necessary rest for school the next day, they are falling asleep in the chairs with their little heads falling over. Did you ever see them like that? Then all their fun is taken away by such a strict religion and a desert god which makes them grow up with no self esteem whatsoever. They tell them they're all sinners from the womb up and only a rod will remove it. And, not to mention the pedos in the hall.

by Skinnedsheep inin the last 6 months my family and i have stopped attending cold turkey.
it is incredible to me to see how our so called friends have dropped us like we were a snake covered in spiders.
we actually havent really said anything to anybody about why we stopped.

Shouldn't the WTBTS have more than 7 million followers after 140 years of preaching?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inafter 140 years of preaching and millions of books, magazines, and tracts, all the wtbts has to show is a measly 7 million members.
the mormons, baptists, pentecostals and many other religions have more members without the preaching work.. in your opinion, is 7 million members way too many for all the odd beliefs, doctrines and practices ?
or, should be more members since they have had over 140 years of being in the religion business?.

Seems to me like they could have done better by advertising in the paper, having podcasts on the radio, posting sermons in widely read newspapers. Oh, but that's right, I forgot. There would be no one there with their hand out for them to put money in to send it to the cult.

How to Wear a Pinkie Ring, by Stephen Lett, Governing Body Member
by Oubliette inalways the fashionista amongst the governing body members, mr. stephen lett recently showed us how even an older man can display a certain swagger, a certain je nesais quoi that says, "i'm one of the anointed, and you're not!".
he does this in so many ways, but the one i want to draw our attention to is the way he rocked the theocratic fashion world with his wearing of a very manly pinkie ring in a recent wtbts video.. - -.

Much more pleasant than having to see him in tights.

Jumping cursor: what to do?
by compound complex inon my imac laptop i am typing away and suddenly my words appear on a different line, often within the text of an earlier sentence.
it is nonstop and the tech advice online is difficult for me to understand/apply.
never has occurred on my dell pc.. has this happened to you?.
-
Jeannette
When it happened to me I searched the tech advise. They said to turn it off at night and let it get cleaned up-it might have a virus. I turn it off every night now and it's never happened again. Maybe you have too many programs open. Can you get rid of those hidden ones you never use?

Drama friday 2014 DC
by inbetween inanyone seen the drama on friday ?.
it was about a pioneer couple, when the husband, also an elder, lost his job, and borrowed money from a fellwo elder, who apparently was considered weatlthy.. the main lesson of the drama was quite ok, even though a bit overdone, touching on the issue of gossip and false assumptions.. but there were at least two subtle lessons, whitch were quite disturbing:.
1) no matter what happens, remain pioneering.
-
Jeannette
What is pioneering except standing at the doors begging for money to send to the Watchtower. Of course it's the most important work in the world today so regardless of the weather, job loss, aches, pains. outright sickness and no money, you get out there in service. Watchtower is so financially poor that they need every penny that can be sent. (yeah, right).
Older ones, use your pension and buy a computer. Good advice, but don't go to jw.org, go to Jehovahs-Witness.net.

If the organization is all about money.....
by Pete Zahut inthen why would they be so insistent about dfing people ?
if it's money the watchtower org is after, it seems like they'd want to hold on to all the members they can.. how would you answer this logic?.
-
Jeannette
They want us to have the "slave mentality" so that whatever comes to our economy, we'll fit right in.
