One Devastating Bible Passage
by Farkel ini used the following quote from mark 9:38-40 in another thread, but thought it might be worthy to have people comment about it in its own thread: .
"john said to him: "teacher, we saw a certain man expeling demons by the use of your name and we tried to prevent him, because he was not accompanying us.
but jesus said: "do not try to prevent him, for there is no one that will do a powerful work on the basis of my name that will quickly be able to revile me, for he that is not against us is for us.

It is different with the religious systems that now preach in Jesus? name. It cannot be said that all these are not against him for that reason, for they are against Jehovah?s faithful witnesses who do preach Jesus and his kingdom. So as they are against the least of these his brothers, they are against him and their mere use of Jesus? name does not gain favorable recognition of them as true followers. Matthew 7:20-23 (NW) applies to them:
By making themselves, rather than Jesus, the focal point of the modern application, the wts craftily gets around the problem.
As Gumby wrote, most religions barely know the jws and don't exert energy opposing them. Most Christians are simply busy trying to tell others about Jesus, and/or busy living their lives, without giving thought to what the jws are up to.

Could someone search the internet and trace your name back to this site?
by Netty inhow would that work?
i know that if they typed in jehovahs witness or whatever, and this site came up then they could surf the site and may happen to stumble on your posts and find you.
but what i dont know is, say your name is jane doe, they type jane doe in google, or whatever they use to search, and jane doe comes up with posts you have made to this site.

It has happened that people have been "busted" for posting here. One poster reported about 2 yrs ago that her relative logged on here and eventually found her posts. Not helping matters was her avatar, which was a photo of her.
Another poster, Joyzabel, was found out as well, and was confronted with it by elders. I'm not exactly sure how she was busted.

Their 'out' is the phrase "the Christian congregation had not yet been set up". They say that once that happened, it would be necessary to be part of the group. To them, Jesus' words had a limited-time-only application.

I would love to see a 20/20 on the UN
by Crooked Lumpy Vessel ini was re-reading some of the old posts in the best of.... i was thinking....wouldnt it be great for this topic to appear on prime time.
i really dont think many members are aware of this issue even to this day.
i would like to see interviews with officials at the un and the wts.

I can picture John Stossel saying: 'A religion that tells its members that they can't join the YMCA, that tells them they cannot vote, that tells them they cannot get involved in the political process, tells them they can't carry a 25 cent political party card - which resulted in trauma and death to many members in Malawi, and yet becomes part of the UN as an NGO?......Give Me A Break!'

Two Elders Stopped By
by rocketman intwo elders approached me yesterday afternoon while i was doing a bit of work on my car.
unsuccessful at reaching me in my home (mostly because i don't answer the doorbell when they come) they saw me outside and decided to stop to talk.
the conversation did not go especially well.

At least that's what I was told when I was discouraged from helping a householder move some furniture. I was laughed at. The elder thought I was just trying to get out of doing hard core door to door.
Yes, you were trying to be a real Christian, and they frowned upon it.
