I always thought it'd be pretty cool to live on Venus. I figure that if I can hang around long enough, we'll duplicate those conditions on earth, and bingo!....Venus at last.

Is Global Warming a Myth?
by Sirona ini've been reading about global warming recently and to be honest its getting more confusing by the minute.. some say there is so much evidence that it is caused by humans (burning of fossil fuels etc) but some say that it is a natural cycle that we shouldn't worry about.. http://www.junkscience.com/news/robinson.htm.
what is the truth?
are you concerned about our planet?.

Markowitz also expressed concern about the lack of retail space on the ground floors,
Perhaps they ought to consider a Wal-Mart on floor G.

How much harm have you caused your congregation?
by Joker10 inhow much harm did you cause to the people in your congregation?
everybody complains how the witnesses did this and that and in the process caused so much harm.
but what you don't say is how much pain you caused others while you were in.

I was well liked and respected, and to my knowledge caused no harm aside from a stupid comment or two when I was an elder. Any harm I did was when I was an elder blindly following WTS policy, and fortunately even that was relatively minor.
I'll add that I was never, thankfully, involved in any child sexual abuse cases when I was an elder. I honestly would have a lot of trouble living with myself had I followed WTS policy in a case of actual abuse in which there was no second witness to the matter. To think that a child could still be subject to such abuse on my watch would be too much to bear. Thankfully, such a thing never happened. I can't see how elders can live with following WTS policy on such matters.

I'm making my picks soon - like maybe Feb 7, 2005. With so much parity, that may be the only way to be right.

Good one by Gary.
Meanwhile, the Networks should know by now that, with few exceptions (like Arrested Development) they no longer have the best programming. And the sitcom is practically dead, as shown by the only winners coming from shows (Frazier, Sex In The City) that are no longer current.

I don't have a TV. I like having a quiet living room.
SNG, were you ever used for demos at jw assemblies? They'd love a guy who has no TV.

I own a 27", and I am not in the market for anything larger, because my eyes bother me so as it is. But, my next TV (someday) will likely be a High Definition model, and I'll almost have to buy a larger size. But with a sharper picture, it should be less hard on my eyes. My right eye bothers me when I look at any kind of screen for any length of time.
Many men fall into the 'bigger is better' mode that seems so common, esp in the US. To find out what screen size he really needs, it's a matter of doing a little measuring and math, as explained here.

I often play music, but not loudly. Also, I often read while commercials are on during TV viewing, or during things like baseball games so I don't fall asleep. It also helps divert my eyes from the screen, which is why I also read while using the computer, waiting for log-in or certain functions which seem to take forever.
