A truly whacked out scenario

i was just reading a news article and this jumped out at me for some reason(this isn't a political thread!):.

another traveler, khadija tawfek mouhsin, said his brother was killed last year en route to karbala, but that he was determined to make the journey.

"the terrorists give us the chance to go to paradise," the 39-year-old shiite pilgrim said.. my mind went to work on the word "paradise" and what we(exjw's) used to picture paradise as being.

That is EXACTLY how I felt too as a very young child! At that time, I thought I was strange, abnormal, alone, and as my devout JW grandmother always said, very ungrateful to Jah for "His loving provision". ackkkk!

Thank you Blondie!! I've been out/away so long I rarely think about it until spring.

A few days ago, someone said Sat, 4/7 was Easter weekend. It didn't HIT me until today that the memorial should be close by, and that it could impact family attending my daughter's wedding. They shouldn't have a problem. LOL, whewwww!

Thanks JH for looking that up....I found that as well. We have a family event April 7 with JW family attending from out-of-state. Mon 4/2 is cutting it kind of close, but hopefully all will work out!

just a little breaking news:.

after several years of a great friendship with diane (previously posted as xena) things have started to really come together recently and i've succumbed to making an honest woman of her (or at least as honest as it's possible to make her.

last night (xmas day) i popped the question and she agreed to marry me (i wonder if she knows what she's let herself in for!!!)..
