  Two things that article said stand out to me. The first is:

  "Do not be “quickly shaken from your reason” when faced with what appear to be damaging attacks by apostates or other such deceivers of the mind—however plausible their charges may seem."

  Notice that it said, "however plausible their charges may seem". In other words, don't believe it even if it's true because it came from an apostate. I have known that an apostate could say that Trump is the president, but a JW will refute it simply because it came from an apostate.

  Also, this point stood out: "Surely there is ample evidence to show that you can trust the channel that Jehovah has used for nearly a hundred years now to lead us in the way of truth."

  So, there not counting any time before 1918? I think that's a new thought.

  .. also, didn't the jws say before the commission that if an adult had sex with a minor who was "approaching adulthood" than it wouldn't be considered sexual child abuse and wouldn't be reported?.

  I noticed that Lett said, "It made me very happy to see a little 10 year old BROTHER get baptized."

  I noted that was very carefully worded. But more correctly is should have been stated, "to see a little 10 year old BOY get baptized." Because that's really what he is, a boy.

  Who can explain why the "Two Witness" rule is wrong, in the simplest term?

  with all the legalese being tossed around, and the expert manipulation on the part of the wtbts, who can explain why the "two witness" is being perverted by the wtbts?

  i don't care if you're a bible believer and want to approach this from a biblical standpoint, or if you simply use logic and reason.

  how would you explain this subject to a j-dub, or even a non-dub?.

  1.) Two elders can witness a brothers car parked outside a sisters home over night and not need two witnesses to say they committed fornication. THAT's why the two witness rule doesn't make sense.

  2.) Also Angus Stewart mentioned in case 29 that in Deut 22:25-27 if a woman is raped in the field, she didn't need two witnesses to have the raper stoned to death. Another reason why the two witness rule doesn't make sense.

  3.) But let us not forget this important thing. Sure, the org needs two witnesses, but that's to perform their own internal judicial trial process. They should still inform the authorities even if they can't move forward internally. IF the authorities find the perp guilty THEN they can move forward internally. How hard is that?!

  Baptism at 10 years of age! March 2017 broadcast

  (i wanted to put this in the child abuse section of the forum!).

  we have seen that during the march 2017 broadcast, m stephen lett has openly praised children who get baptised as young as 10!.

  so lets summarize why it is wrong to push child baptism (not far off "infant baptism" that jws condemn other churches for).

  The reality of "shunning" and character assasination highlighted at the Australian Royal Commission

  once again, the arc has brilliantly highlighted the reality that any witness who either fades or disassociates is subjected to active official shunning by the organization.. the "brothers" tried to state that it was the choice of the indiviual who steps away from the organization to shun them!

  they actually tried to make it out to be the fault of the one who leaves!

  then they tried to say that those who fade are not shunned!.

  I absolutely agree with you jwfacts, that at the time a victim needs the support the most, they are shunned. What a disgrace. I can not in my heart of hearts EVER see Jesus doing such a thing.

  He would do the opposite.
