  CO just confirmed worldwide construction halt and possible JW.ORG news of it

  just had the co visit tonight.

  i asked him if he had heard about the worldwide halt of construction besides warwick and to my surprise he said he heard the same thing.

  then he went on and add that also some branches are closing and some bethelites going into pioneering but, "all because of the preaching work now.

  Dunedain - I spoke directly myself to the CO. I just asked him if he had, "also heard that all the construction had halted worldwide except warwick?" and he said, "yes, that's what I heard too, and also that there are some branches closing too with some bethelites going into pioneering but that's because of the preaching work. So yes I've heard about but don't spread it. Wait for it to come out on JW.ORG on the news section first."

  If I recall, that's pretty much the extent of the conversation. We didn't say anything about kingdom halls. I did get the impression from him by the way he was speaking to me that in the near future the borg would be making some type of spin announcement about the whole construction stoppage. It was almost like he was saying, "just wait, you'll hear about it soon enough."

  Speculation on future donation arrangements

  in the aftermath of this year's annual meeting and the recent tremors of cash shortfalls within the organization, i began thinking "what could they do next to bring in more $$$.".

  many here have speculated that we're seeing incremental moves toward "tithing" (of course they would never call it that).

  a recent thread (can't find it right now) highlighted that they recently raised the "suggested per publisher donation" at the circuit assembly significantly (tripled it?)..

  I said wow, ok, and that's awesome to see Jah's direction in the matter, and how lovely his talk was, but honestly I couldn't believe he actually admitted it. ;)

  Then on the way home I told my wife who is still totally in and she bought the whole thing, hook line and sinker. She said, "well, yes, the main focus should be the preaching work." :(

  So changes were made, but who cares because were so deep into the end, nothing the Organization does, really matters—does it?

  so i called a few jwdubs that still talk to me, not to try to convince them of anything or wake them up but to try to get a feedback on how they took the big meeting change and other announcements.

  generally speaking, all the ones i talked to were not even fazed by the changes.

  many of them still didnt even realize the meeting format had changed and thought the layoffs were a normal thing that happens all the time.

  there were several families that were visiting my mom today and i was sitting in and just listening to all of them talk..

  they started talking about the recent shooting at the university.

  and its so easy for them because all they have to say is;.

  John - you are so right. For people that are that blind, it wouldn't matter how much TTATT you showed them, they would just say, "yeah, but Jehovah knows what's going on...". and they would just keep on 'serving Jah' so to speak. They really just don't get it.
