Tenacious - That's brilliant! When I'm finally done with this cult, I'll do shit like that just to piss the elders off. -

Hey guys! Some of you might know about my latest clash with the elders. I see the pressure this cult is putting on my family. It's getting worse. My mother ruined her life because of them. She abandoned her family and never talked to them again when an older JW woman successfully brainwashed her in her teenagehood. Now, more than 40 years later, she suffers from serious depression, that is only made worse by the elders and other JW's. They're constantly guilt tripping her for not coming to the K Hall more, doing more hours in service and shit like that, even though they know she has both a heart condition and depression, and we live far from the Hall. Now, they're making a big deal out of one of my facebook comments.
I hate this cult. I want to see this cult destroyed. I want to stop it from destroying other people's lives. I want to take it down. And so, I've been thinking about it. I thought about the internet, the media, "apostates" and all the other things that could pose a threat to the cult. I don't think any external attack would work. Maybe a large scale internet or media campaign that reveals the evilness of this cult would work for waking up some, but they'd lose only a tiny percentage of followers, at best.
What could work though, would be taking them down from the inside. Imagine if a group of awake JW's would work their way to the top (or already be there, but that's more unlikely), and by taking coordinated action, would begin drastic changes in doctrine or make ridiculous prophecies official (or whatever else would work) to destroy this cult. Sort of like creating another 1975, but much worse and intentional. Anyway, I think we should organize ourselves and take action against this cult. I see it as a moral duty to prevent more lives getting wasted by the evil corporation. What do you guys think? What's the best way to take WT down (partially at least)? -

Watchtower Free - That's hilarious and brilliant. That's pretty much how they act. Like they're big bad mobsters and you need to explain yourself to them or else. -

Flipper, Cofty WOW, these people are nuts. Seriously, it says a lot about their little religion. Look at what great lengths they go to stalk people and enforce their censorship and rules, and at how little they do for those in financial need, sick or old. It especially pisses me off because I didn't post that on my wall. It wasn't for everyone to see. It was a comment at a friend's post. We were having a conversation between ourselves. The JW that spotted me, wasn't in on the conversation. Getting yourself involved in such as thing is like sneaking up on people and listening to what they talk to other friends, then telling everyone about it. -

Shirley, we don't really attend but my parents are still very much brainwashed by them. If I stopped being a JW, they'd stop talking to me, which would suck. -

You guys are so right. Before this, they haven't visited us since October. So, they really don't give a crap about us, out here, all alone without a congo near. They don't actually care to see how we were for months on end, but they do care about a facebook comment. What a farce of a religion. -

So, not long ago I've told you guys how one of my only two JW friends saw my comment against the borg and called me about it. Well, the little fraker also called the elders to tell on me. I know I've been a huge idiot for posting a comment about JW's on Facebook, but nonetheless I did it and what's happened, happened.
Two idiot elders came all the way from the nearest congo, 30 miles away to talk to me about it. The Facebook account is not in my name, but they had me with a few specifics, so I told them the account is mine but I've been logged in a lot of places and somebody else must have posted that comment because I sure as hell didn't. They didn't buy that, but what can they do since I wasn't going to admit it.
Anyway, I now see that my "friend" has also unfriended me on Facebook, LOL. The Mother Fraker (excuse the language). Damn is he overacting. All I said was that the JW's were a shitty, destructive cult. For a simple comment they had to travel 30 miles to interrogate me about it. Big Brother in action right there. I swear to Zeus, these mofos act like the secret police of a communist regime. After they left, I admitted to my family I was the one that posted that comment. I told my parents that I want to have nothing to do with religion, ANY religion, and I want to be left alone. My mother said "So, you lost any faith you had?" and I simply replied "Yes". My parents aren't even too mad at me. Funny how they're almost okay with what I've done. The elders started blabbing about my reputation in the congregation, how hard this will make things for me to find a nice JW girl to marry and crap like that. I could barely contain myself from bursting out in laughter. -

Well, there's a "wordly" woman from another country that I had worked with some time ago and she's posted it, tagged me, and asked "WTF?", knowing I'm a still a JW just for family reasons. I commented that this is a dumbass, destructive cult, and how I can't wait to leave and take my family with me, as soon as possible. I made sure all my privacy settings at are their max. Nevertheless, as you can probably guess, someone has seen what I posted. My facebook account is not on my name, and I only have two JW's on my friends list because I had to add them for work reasons. Well, one of them seems to like to look at what I comment on other people's posts. The following day he called me, trying to make it sound like he was merely interested in how I was. Then he tells me: "Bro, I wanted to ask you something. I have seen a very worrying comment you posted to some woman's apostate link yesterday."
I said "Really? Hmm...Weird. I have to say that I have no idea what you're talking about"
He says: "Are you close to a computer"
I said "No. Sorry but I'm outside, working. Plus, a recent storm took out the wires and I haven't had an internet connection in weeks"
He then said: Ooh, okay then. We'll talk soon. Have a nice day! Bye!" and immediately hung up.
I simply denied everything. And,of course I have deleted the comment a few hours later. I know there's nothing they can do to me, even if he rats me out, but damn. This is the guy I studied with before baptizing. He's probably shocked by my words. I don't know what to say when we meet next. And damn, I must find a way to get rid of all JW's from my facebook friends list. -

Do JW Children Still Call Adults "Aunt" and "Uncle"?
by cofty inwhen i was young we were taught to refer to other adult jws as aunt or uncle.. was this also the case in other countries and does it still happen?.
was it just a custom or has the literature ever commented on it?.
thanks.

Wow, this seems extremely peculiar to me. Somehow, in my entire life, I never managed to hear about this practice. I grew up in Transylvania, a region of Romania, and here nobody calls somebody unrelated to them aunt or uncle. As JW children we simply called other JW adults brother or sister. In the case of old JW's, out of respect we called them Mr. or Mrs.
