well, it's not exactly on the date but the first opportunity thereafter!.

it's been a hell of a ride.

we were both regular pioneers when we met and we weathered the storms of getting married (both sets of parents did their best to keep it from happening), chris leaving the borg, me staying in for another 15 years and two kids, his family disowning him, my father's suicide .

Yeah and many Atheists have a persecution complex too, the thing is most people don't care, and the ones that do have been witness to their tactics.

I back Sylvia on this one.

I will even add my own perspective to this list. I have never dealt with a more rude, callous, backstabbing, smart mouthed bunch, until I started conversing with Atheists on here. They are worse than the JW's. (if that's even possible in my book).

If this is their idea of morals without a God, then I completely don't want anything to do with atheism.

so, the last few threads i've written have been about telling your families and friends how you feel; many of you have given me the reasons you don't speak out to your families, but i want to tell you the main reason you should.

please let me explain.... .

i keep on stressing this point because how it makes you feel, i'm telling you all, that for over 19 years, i let information about my thoughts out slowly, then the tipping point... at my uncle's funeral 2 february's ago, while listening to my family pontificate at dinner about who so and so is pioneering and the like, it hit me that i was sick to the core of them throwing their bullisi*t beliefs at me like i was inferior or something.

I am not really sure, I guess it depends on who tags along with him.

I am kind of torn between giving him a piece of my mind, or trying some way to get him out of the cult. Something I may say or do to cause him to question things.

If I were successful in deprogramming him, it would definitely be a big feather in my cap.

but still, I want to speak my mind, I want them to know.

I guess I will have to decide which of the 2 would be the most satisfying to me.
