Ok, John Doe I will change the circumstances slightly since you seem to be backing the plaintiff in the pubic hair case and you used the "but for".
What if a an XJW went to a restaurant and saw a watchtower laying around and they felt traumatized. Remember substitute pubic hair for watchtower.
What do you think in this instance, and if you disagree then why?

Imagine
by John Doe inyou're eating at a large, multi bilion dollar franchise corporation restaurant.
now, further assume you find a pubic har in your food, or better yet, you find a hair when it pulls your lip as you removed your fork from your mouth.
now, you suffer no physical harm, no sickness, no tangible harm.

I agree with you in that instance Cog, the psychological damage was already done by the molester and the restaurant shouldn't have to pay for something that someone else caused.

do you feel posting on JWD helps or hinders your recovery?
by burningbridges insometimes i wonder if posting on this site helps me "recover" from the trauma that the witnesses put me through, and have no doubt it does at times.
no where else is there such a support team of individuals who know personally what you've been through and how you feel.
but at the same time, i often wonder if coming on here causes me to obsess in a way, preventing me from "moving on" with my life.

Not always that simple. Some of us didn't choose this religion, it was forced on us. Some of us had our very life course changed because of the doctrines of this religion.

suicide and explosion at Kingdom Hall on Sat. July 27
by kool aid man06 ina bizarre explosion at a church east of kansas city killed one man on saturday afternoon.
atf agents said the explosion at the jehovah's witness' kingdom hall on foggy bottom drive was intentionally set, and that the person who died appears to have committed suicide.
witnesses described large amounts of smoke pouring out of the building, which they said was just recently completed.

mcsemike, I don't know if there are any actual statistics, but from what I have read over the years, suicide within the JW's is at a much higher rate than the national average.
Also, I just got off the phone with my mom, and grandma was there visiting.
I told mom about the kingdom hall suicide tragedy and she blurted it out to grandma, grandma was starting to allude to it being apostates or worldly people, but then her tone kinda changed when I told her it was an actual witness and maybe an Elder to boot.
I also mentioned about the Knoxville church shooting, and she had already watched it on the news. I kid you not, she said "it sounded like it was some kind of homosexual thing" I don't know where she got that idea. -

It possibly hinders mine, but for the most part it is just something to do to fill the time while I plan my next getaway from Knoxville.

I am not sure about Influenza, I don't doubt you, it is just I don't know much about that. Influenza is also spread by contact with people, so there really isn't much you can do except get a flu shot or avoid people.

If you can name some potentially deadly diseases that are spread by hair and they are not rare diseases, but common, then I change my mind a little in this circumtance, I may allow for some psychological damages.
