Eyes Open, I agree with everything you said, except for the small part about evolution. I do believe in a good practical education, in fact that is one of my biggest beefs with the JW Cult, robbing children of potential.

Also Eyes Open, in a democracy we are free to pursue our hobbies, our careers and so on. Not everybody finds Science interesting, some people are more interested in arts, some in government, just because you or anyone else enjoys science doesn't mean we all have too. By the way, Science was one of my best subjects, Straight A's. I just don't see that as my passion, especially without an agenda to coax it along.

Eyes Open, college is voluntary and geared toward adults, so what they teach there doesn't bother me as much. grade school and on up to high school are compulsive, and that is the difference.

Yes but unless it is something I can see with my very own eyes, or at least have a credible eyewitness, then I won't believe it. That is my choice. Unless I can see someone evolving straight in front of me, I won't believe it. Most other scientific theories can be tested easily and proven true. Not so with evolution, just alot of guess work, granted it may be educated guesswork though.
I have no desire to prove evolution true, it doesn't affect me whatsoever. We all live, we all will die. I won't spend one miniute of my time trying to prove something true that supposedly happened millions or billions of years ago. -

Eyes Open, "others' are too busy with real world problems such as unemployment, high gas prices, foreclosures than to worry whether or not we evolved. The concept of evolution doesn't put food on the table.

I would imagine that just about everybody on this planet has at least one issue they are close minded on, so it doesn't bother me. Very few people are truly "live and let live persons". Dawg is one of those. I used to be more that way, but I have "evolved" LOL

To answer your question hamilcarr, point blank no. It doesnt change the fact that I am in debt, it doesnt change the fact that my marriage has went kaput. It is almost a neutral issue for me, but for the tactics of many XJW's that try to propagate it.
It has no practical application for my life, so therefore I don't have this burning desire to prove evolution correct or to find errors within general christianity. -

As for education they need to start teaching more practical things that will further them in life and quit trying to force a liberal agenda on our school children. They need to be taught how our government works, they need to be taught practical things like making resumes, better reading comprehension, and other things.
Whether or not we evolved 1 billion years ago does nothing for my finances, marriage, or anything else substantial in my life. It is practically a non issue, as people will believe what they want.
This subject would be almost non issue for me, if it weren't for some people.
