Hello Joy, this is Dave, we met up last year in Atlanta, along with Lawrence. I am glad you are doing well, and I wish you a Happy New Year for 2009. I don't know when I will be back down that way, but maybe sometime we can plan another meetup.

Hello to all who knew me...
by Joyzabel inas i sit here addressing my xmas cards for this year and think of all the people who have helped me on my jouney this past 7 years and especially the past 3, i thought i would post a thread letting people who knew me know how i am and what i have been up to this past year.. .
it will soon be 2 years since i moved from florida to atlanta, ga. even though it was going back to full time work, i love my job and am glad i have one.. .
i acknowledge that my therapy has helped me to get my mind untangled from being raised in a high control group and from being married to an alcoholic.

Yeah WT Wizard, they told me similar things. They did everything in the world to keep me away from the opposite sex.

I despised the Watchtower since I was little, and was always looking for some way to invalidate it. I eventually quit going to meetings in a last ditch effort to have a normal life before I was destroyed.. I basically said "the hell with it, I am going to find me a woman and get married and live a normal life, so help me God, and if you destroy me then so be it". 4 years later I discovered The Truth was nothing but a lie.

Questions about A.H. Macmillan
by Junction-Guy inwow, i was just reading the online section of my old hometown newspaper.
they have a section about famous and contoversial people who are either from that town or who visited it.
there were several people mentioned in that column that were ministers and that the town hosted the national conference of free will baptists back in 1941.. .

Farkel, that is exactly the kind of info I was looking for.
Anyway, tonight I got off the phone with my Grandma who grew up there, and she had no idea at all that Macmillan had ever even been there. She was fascinated with this info, and wanted me to keep her informed if anything else is written in the paper about him.
She says in all of her years, she doesnt ever remember her Dad mentioning Macmillan's visit to Kentucky. -

Sorry, but I can't post the link, this article was from Wednesday's online edition, and by the time I went to re-read it, it had already been replaced by Friday's edition.
I don't think Fred Franz being from Covington Ky had anything to do with Macmillan visiting Paintsville, the 2 towns are 170 miles and light years apart.
Ninja, its no big deal, I was just wondering if there were any well known juicy tidbits about him. -

I don't have a problem joining any group, as long as it is not a cult.

Without reading the whole book, I wonder if he mentioned in the book about his visit to my hometown? Does anyone here who has read it remember him saying anything about visiting in Kentucky?

Thanks, I knew a little about him, but nearly as much as with Russell and Rutherford. For some reason I thought that McMillan had turned apostate. So any juicy tidbits about him that I could share with the local paper?
