i started talking with my barber about a month ago about jw's and he is a young guy and involved with his church youth group.
he has now asked me to come to his church and speak about jw's, i am so excited about this and cant wait.
i have alot of preparation work to do beforehand, and im also gonna try to show some videos to the group.

well im not a regular poster on here anymore, due to the fact that i dont own a computer, so either i have to use the computers at the mall or use family computers when im visiting them.
i am in ohio right now visiting with my mom and grandpa (non-jw's) well here is a re-cap of what ive been doing since last summer.. beginning in late july i started picketing kingdom halls in knoxville tennessee and have had a blast doing it.
i am averaging about 1 picket a month now, but as soon as spring starts back i will start doing more.. in october i went to the "witnesses now for jesus convention" i had a great time there in pennsylvania and hope to go again this fall.. starting last summer i embarked on a major awareness campaign at work about jw's and just about everybody i work with knows that i was raised a jw and know why i walked away from it.
Thanks Poztate, I will do everything in my power as long as im drawing breath, to expose the WT Society. I have only just begun. I have lots more public awareness strategies that I will try to employ this year. Even though Im not a regular poster here, I will do my best to come here and post my experiences.

Hey Valis, Im doing great. I hope you have another Apostachilifest this year, if May is too soon then at least one later on in the summer. Darin says he wants to go back again too.

Im gonna try to focus more on the emotional/psychological element of this religion.
My barber actually told me "I want you to tell them just how bad this religion is" I was amazed and my eyes lit up like a little child who was just handed a 5 pound candy bar.
Most people, including my barber have very little knowledge of JW's and dont realize the emotional impact of this religion on children growing up in it. I will do my best to leave them with an accurate knowledge of JW's and tell them things to say and things to avoid with the witnesses.
Anybody have any suggestions on which issues to speak about?

Beginning in late July I started picketing kingdom halls in Knoxville Tennessee and have had a blast doing it. I am averaging about 1 picket a month now, but as soon as spring starts back I will start doing more.
In October I went to the "witnesses now for Jesus convention" I had a great time there in pennsylvania and hope to go again this fall.
Starting last summer I embarked on a major awareness campaign at work about JW's and just about everybody I work with knows that I was raised a JW and know why I walked away from it. I have received several offers to go and picket with me, and when it warms back up I will invite them to come with me.
I am planning to attend at least one Apostafest this summer, and Im hoping they will have one in Dallas again shortly.
My big plans this summer are to picket my very first convention, last year I didnt go due to money and work issues but this year I wont let the opportunity slide.
I have also been asked just recently to speak at a Baptist Church in Knox County about JW's and I cant wait until I do that. I will create another topic about this in just a few minutes.
Other than that its the same ole same ole.
One more thing, this year Im going to try to get involved in some key legal cases involving the WT society, Im willing to offer a testimony about growing up as a JW child. I want to help out in any way possible
Dave
many of the people on this site say that they are apostates.
but that is not the way i feel about myself.. i am not angry with the "witnesses" or the organisation, i don't feel that i wasted my life.
i just think that i was stupid to believe it for 30 years (well sort of believe it, i did have severe doubts on and off).
Although I was raised in it and never got baptized, I consider myself Apostate and wear it with pride. I picket Kingdom Halls, distribute flyers, informal anti-witnessing, so yeah im Apostate.
Dave
i know there was another thread of "how many people did you bring in the truth," but how many people did you bring out of the truth?
sorry, i can't help it.
lol.
It would be a real bonus if I could help someone out of this destructive cult, however my approach is to try to educate people and prevent them from joining in the first place. I may never be successful in pulling someone out of this religion, but I will do my best to expose it to as many as I can. I have personally educated about 100 people on JW doctrines, that's 100 less people who will never get baptized into that mess.

since it is well defined that when the wt kicks you out you are disfellowshipped - there action.
and that when you want to leave you disassociate - your action.
how is it that the wt can da you?
I too have wondered about the legalities of this too, I believe sometime in the future this may become a court case, Is there any other organization that uses this "dissasociation by action theory"? The WT is the only one I know of. It looks to me there is only 2 ways to leave any organization--be forcibly removed or ask to leave. How in the world is this a legal recognized concept? Any Lawyers reading this thread and can give some insight? This may eventually be a major case for the WT.
Dave
do any of you have experience using local talk radio shows to discuss wtbts issues?
Hi Honesty, Please check your message box, Im trying to get in touch with you. We definitely have the same opinions of the WT Society. I think it would be great if we could meet up.
To answer your question, I have given some serious thought to doing a radio interview here in Knoxville, but dont know when or what station yet, perhaps we could both get together and approach one of the local stations here.
I had an idea a while back, although not really practical, to start my own radio station with the call letters WXJW, The slogan would be "bringing you the truth about the truth" now doesnt that sound catchy?
Anyway go check your message box and drop me an email.
Another thing, if you search my previous postings you will see that im an apostate through and through and my wife and I both have picketed several kingdom halls here in knoxville.

hi gang:.
just a reminder that there will be a television show tomorrow night at 7 pm central time (usa) on the eternal word television network about the jws.. i will be giving my story of how i was raised as a jehovah's witness, served time at bethel, was a pioneer etc.
i am a catholic now.. in any case, the show is live.
I have comcast cable with well over 100 channels and I dont have this one, I have been to other cities that have catholic channels, but yet I have never even heard of this station. Wow i wish I could get this channel, I would love to see it. My mom in Dayton Ohio has the catholic channel but its not called EWTN there, just the Catholic Channel. Is this mainly a satellite channel?
