  there were around 6,000,000 jehovah's witnesses in 1995, during which time the global average birth rate was 22.4/1000.

  the estimated number of witness children born is therefore 134,400. in 2011, when that group of children were around the age of baptism, there were 263,161 people baptised.

  There were around 6,000,000 Jehovah's Witnesses in 1995, during which time the global average birth rate was 22.4/1000. The estimated number of Witness children born is therefore 134,400. In 2011, when that group of children were around the age of baptism, there were 263,161 people baptised. That means Witness children could only account for at most half (134,400/264,161) the number of baptisms. Witnesses are growing mostly in poor countries where growth rates are higher, but since the Watchtower encourages not to have children, and a sizeable number of children do not get baptised, it seems reasonable to conclude that no more than half the number being baptised is internal and the rest is from preaching. That is not an encouraging statistic, since 1,707,094,710 hours of preaching only resulted in 130,000 conversions, or over 13,000 hours preaching per convert. http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/statistics.php

  my relatives are having a talk for their non-jw family member, meaning he was born in but never baptized and is kind of a bad example in the congo, of course they were not allowed to use the kh and have to look for a facility and someone to do the talk.

  Funny experience last night...

  my story in brief..... after being a born-in, getting baptized at 15, and seeking to excel based on the approval of elders and my parents, i hit a bump in the road.

  i moved to a new congregation, and was a little more than disheartened by the lack of love.

  with all my responsibilities removed from the recent move and being told that i no longer qualified for responsibilities due to my declining activity, i sat down to do some long overdue research to appreciate our spiritual heritage.

  The Elders come off as robots because they are doing what many elders and the Governing body do

  they have tried to develope the mannerisms of humility without having it . I've it in real life many times.

  When I used to go out in "service" it was usually with 3 elders . So I saw how they act when they think

  they are among safe people. Compared to the fake way before the congregation. Its just an act!
