  When did you stop supporting the WT with $$$ ??

  i stopped whilst still an active witness, just cancelled my direct debit and told myself i would put money in the box to cover things like literatrash and heat and light sometimes, and sometimes i did , but that dropped off.. the thing is, i cannot really pin down what my motive was at the time, i still thought then that it was god's org.. but i just stopped giving them money.

  why ?

  i dunno.. when and why did you stop giving them money ?.

  The point is made at the end of the documentary that a number of church properties In Nova Scotia are currently for sale, with more sales planned. Ringing any bells?

  It's only when money is involved that cults ,large and small, take notice.

  Then they decide it is the right and Christian thing to protect children at the expense of their "image".

  why is this needed?

  everyone has an arrangement for personal shepherding except district overseers and their wives.

  No you cannot trust that website. It's owner, "thirdwitness" he calls himself, is a lying deceptive active Witness.

  He came on this board for a while and was well and truely thrashed. He left with his tail between his legs.

  Pissing On JWs That Are Geuninely Searching Here

  i just want to say something about witnesses who come here just to try to rebel rouse as opposed to jws that come here and are "searching" or are "active" members in the organization but are reading info on this site.. there's no reason to "beat down" witnesses just because they still go to meetings and we don't.

  i've seen some insulting words against present elders and it's unnecessary and judgmental, in my honest opinion.

  some jws like to spar with us on this board and it's a losing effort for them in reality.. who knows when or what will make someone actually leave the tentacles of the organization.

  I had some thoughts on this subject, but I just read Billy's post and he said better than I could.

  So I will repeat what I wanted to say but Billy said better:

  So, the mental groundwork for rule-setting and judging-others is set for us, but those rules change as we start to question "mother". I think a lot of the people that come here simply have changed the old Watchtower corporation rules for a personally crafted set of rules painted in blank-and-white that everyone else should live by and that they use to judge others by. So often posts have a "you should do as I say" authoritative ring, because that's what we always heard as dubs.

  If somebody here is an elder, pioneer, bethelite, whatever, it's a tough exit that they are looking at. I'm not going to expect them to rush out the door before they are prepared for what's on the other side. It's their life. It's their choice. I'm not going to play their judge like some kind of an ex-JW-elder.

  In the late 60's and early 70's HQ had a system where certain congregations recorded the talks of the CO

  and DO. I know a DO who was severely reprimanded because, in his talks to the congregations,

  he was not giving '75 his full and unqualified support.

  Fact is, he was actually putting a bit of a dampner on it.
