  A Memo for my JW dad

  i have been daed for months but only recently, after having asked every and each person he could ask (even writting a letter to the wt), my dad decided he couldn't talk to me anymore.

  it has hit my non-jw mother very hard that her husband could do that.

  she cries a lot, but we are trying to be strong and hold ourselves together, and try in anyway we can to make him open his eyes..... tomorrow, i have decided to leave the crisis of conscience book on his desk with a with page on it, written on big black letters that will say.... "i was wondering if every man would be capable of shunning his own children and break up his family because of a group of men.. then i realised that no, some men have chosen to open their eyes and *truly* follow jesus, example...... with love, your daughter".

  Dear Lily,

  For your sake I really wish that this was true.

  I don't really care if he shuns me.

  Unfortunately you do care. You care very much. Your pain jumps out of the page.

  I have read your story before and from what you've said it is obvious that your father is in pain also. He really loves you,

  but the poor soul has been brainwashed and really believes God wants him to shun you. Even though it is agony

  for both of you, he really thinks that if he obeys God (GB) it is for the best.

  I wouldn't presume to know what would be the best in your situation, but I do know that if my daughter were to regularly

  send me cards telling me how much she loved me and missed me it would eventually melt my heart.

  It is obvious he loves you very much. Otherwise he wouldn't have searched high and low to get someone to give him

  permission to stay in contact.

  I am so sorry you are having painful experience, wish there was more I could do to help.

  Sorry but I really would give that one a little more thought.

  Reading that book would be more of a sin than talking to you.

  Perhaps starting with small things may work better than hitting him between the eyes with the worst thing a JW can possibly do.

  I believe it could cause more resentment.

  I am hurt, my wife had a miscarriage and still my family didn't contact me

  two weeks ago my wife had a miscarriage at 11 weeks.

  it is very sad as it was to be my first child and my wife is already 39. what hurt the most though is that none of my immediate family contacted me.

  i was d/f in january and did not expect to hear regularly from my parents and sister.

  First I want to say how sad I am for you. I am so sorry you lost your baby. I am also very upset for you that

  you have to deal with family shunning at the same time.

  You asked:

  I will tell you my experience. My mother was 43 when I was born. I NEVER thought of my mother as old. Even though

  she was not only 43years older than I, she was continually sick as well. I am not sure why I NEVER, not even once, thought of

  her as old, but what I do know is that my mother made it very, very obvious to me that she thought I was one of the

  most wonderful things ever to happen to her.

  No one ever felt more loved than my mother made me feel. If the truth were known I was probably spoiled.

  However I would NEVER EVER EVER have wanted to swap my mother for a younger edition. I loved her so much,

  it simply never entered my mind.

  She was such a loving mother and she made me feel so special, how could there have been a problem?

  i have the video, finally, of the city overseer perjuring himself.

  in it, he denies wt publications, refuses to read wt articles and quotes claiming they come from "apostate" websites, etc.

  it is about 10 minutes long.

  C.O / D.O leaving the `truth`???

  this is probobly a long shot & i doubt it`s happened but does anyone know if any circuit overseers or district overseers have ever left.

  I am on speaking terms with a DO and two CO's who have left.

  The DO and one CO left over doctrinal issues and the other was df'd for running off with a woman while still married.

  They had all left the travelling work when they left.
