March 2020 Broadcast - Hard Push to Baptism. Why?
by Smiles inthe jw broadcast for march 2020 is a hard push for more baptisms, where mark sanctamonious sanderson makes ready use of the phrase "baptised disciples of jesus" instead of their typical catch phrase "baptised servants of jehovah".
the "jesus message" is somewhat unusual rhetoric for jehovah's witnesses.
why the big push for more baptism?

Good point! Definitely harder, for some even impossible, to exit Watch Tower after JW baptism.
@BluesBrother
Sanderson's use of the theme 'come to Jesus by baptism' was not the typical casual use of the topic when we compare the frequency and intensity of its use over recent years. This appears to be another part of a strategic rebranding of the JW product slanting more toward a Jesus/baptism centered message. The real underlying core message, of course, remains the same: 'Prove your loyalty to Watch Tower rules, or be dead forever', but now more candy coated with Jesus. Call it, Flavor-Aid...
2020 JW Service Year Text is:
"Go, therefore, and make disciples..., baptizing them."
May 2020 Study Edition:
"Daniel says that the survivors will have their names "written down in the book." (Dan. 12:1) How do we get our names in that book? We must give clear evidence that we have faith in Jesus, the Lamb of God. (John 1:29) We need to get baptized... Now is the time to build trust in Jehovah and his organization of loyal servants."
2016 saw the rebranding of all JW midweek meetings merged and renamed as "Christian Life and Ministry Meeting" so as to appear more Christian.
Individual members of the Watch Tower governing body have been observed (and recorded) lecturing audiences with an unusually forceful push toward baptism, especially baptism of children, as John Cedars' recently blogged an assortment of evidence (which includes recordings of governing body members) that indicates the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses is deliberately leading a strategic campaign for more baptism entrapment:

Dog makes a good point.. Jesus sells cookies better Jehovah.
So yes, Watch Tower will most certainly compromise and begin marketing more "in the name of the Son", if that's what it takes to keep their Titanic corporation afloat.
Mr. D. Mark Sanderson is wise to promote the Come to Jesus Kool-Aid because as the youngest member of the Watch Tower governing body, he will likely be standing at the helm when the water rises ear deep and the all-hands-on-deck siren wails for the one last time. Sanderson has proven that he will do whatever it takes... that's how he got to where he is today at such a comparatively young age. Who was sent overseas to risk arrest by decrying the unfavorable verdict from their King of the North...
Another reason Watch Tower may be throttling up the Jesus jargon is to appear more mainstream and less extremist. Watch Tower obviously does not like having its "land of decoration" confiscated for extremism. So the Watch Tower bottom line is seeing itself forced to declare more Jesus. Theocratic warfare.

- Why the big push for more baptism?
- Why this shift to a more mainstream evangelical tone of "get baptised for Jesus" instead of their usual "symbolize your dedication to Jehovah"?
Is this push for more baptisms a result to revive slowing Watch Tower momentum? Or is this Christendom-like baptism revival simply proving to be a more effective tactic in attracting well-meaning naive people and quickly hoarding them into the legal contract of baptism while they are still ignorant of Watch Tower corporate evil that loves them?
The broadcast features an interview with "R.P." Johnson, an elderly 4th generation JW who is now a "reassigned" ex-Bethelite still clinging to the stereotypical PIMI JW drone mentality.
"R.P." has always been the classic Watch Tower poster boy, one that definitely drank the Kool-Aid.... another textbook example of what Watch Tower wants to create with anyone naive enough to consent to its corporate baptism.

Heavy use of fear inducing manipulative propaganda throughout those study articles in that May 2020 issue of Watchtower, which gradually lead readers back to the main objective of Watch Tower... CONTROL... as simply stated in paragraphs 18 and 19 of the concluding study article:
18
"We need to get baptized in symbol of our dedication to God."
19
"Now is the time to build trust in Jehovah and his organization of loyal servants."
Undertones there being: 'Submit and dedicate yourself to the Watch Tower corporation by maintaining strict loyalty to its organization of representatives, or your name will not be written down in God's book of life!'

Example of how WTBTS pervert their Greek translation
by The Fall Guy inmatthew 18:17 says that the christian congregation* was to be informed of an unrepentant sinner & their sin.
confirmation of this directive was given by paul to timothy.
(1 timothy 5:20).

@ The Fall Guy: Good catch!
The Greek noun ekklhsia/ekklesia/ecclesia in its Biblical context, is indisputably understood by scholars across the spectrum. The word refers to a group called out together, a congregation or assembly of various size, from a small group of Christians meeting at a private home (Ro 16:5) to the collective members of the Christian "church" (1Co 12:28) Watch Tower well knows this, and has even published teaching to those same points.
So, it is a real leap for Watch Tower writers to imply that Jesus' words at St. Matthew 18:17 limit judicial authority and responsiblity to an elite few elder men within the larger ekklesia, because the Greek expressions for elders/older men/overseers are entirely different Greek nouns which do not appear anywhere in the context of that verse, but Watch Tower teaching, such as page 151 of Jesus - The Way, implies otherwise.
Watch Tower will defend its application of that verse by extrapolating a literal rendition of the Greek roots of ekklesia... "ek, meaning "out," and kaleo, meaning "call". Hence, it pertains to a group of persons called out or called together, either officially or unofficially." That is a quote from Watch Tower's book Insight volume 1, page 496. This is interpreted by Watch Tower to support a small group of appointed elder men being "called out" or "called together" from within the congregation (ekklesia) to exercise exclusive judicial authority over individual members of the same church. By design, that power structure is what then gives them a "scriptural basis" for excommunication by tribunal. Without this structure of hierarchy, such judicial decisions would be, by an unbiased reading of 18:17, the product of an essentially democratic process governed by the collective members of a congregation, which obviously would undermine the hierarchy establishment designed by Watch Tower to facilitate its policies of control and excommunication.

To Active JW's Who Think Outside the Box: 2 Thessalonians 2:11, 12 Reconsidered...

@MadMary:
It is good that you brought up the Greek verb "pempo", I was hoping someone would do so. It was only hinted at above.
Watch Tower has translated "pempo" to fit into its doctrinal scheme.
Here are two example from the New World Translation:
John 15:26
"When the helper comes that I will send you..."
2 Thessalonians 2:11
"That is why God lets a deluding influence mislead them..."
"Pempo" appears in both of those verses. At John 5:26, Watch Tower translates pempo as "send". However, at 2 Thessalonians 2:11, Watch Tower twists the same exact Greek verb into "lets"...
Earlier Bobcat wrote that it may not be as "blatant" as thought; but, really, how very convenient for Watch Tower to print an atypical version of scripture, as is often the case with Watch Tower literature, which happens to slant the character of a verse into better alignment with dogma intrinsic to Watch Tower.
Coincidental fit? Or deliberate manipulation?
They say that the serpent in Eden was crafty with word play... Watch Tower has had over 140 years to become quite proficient at twisting words, too.
Millions of unsuspecting users of the New World Translation have and will continue to read 2 Thessalonians 2:11 oblivious to the subtle twist Watch Tower has added to validate its dogma revolving around "the issue of universal sovereignty" being legally settled only as God temporarily LETS a 'deluding operation of error' fester to prove some divine case-in-point, while God simultaneously disavows any and all responsbility for the wretched harm so allowed to transpire.
The New World Translation is not a completely evil publication. But as mentioned in the opening post, it only requires the adding or taking away of ONE word to incur the wrath of God. Watch Tower bears such error.
As Steven Byington remarked in his review of the Watch Tower printing of The New World Translation, that the work is: "well supplied with faults and merits."
Watch Tower quickly glorifies it own "merits", but fairly, we can shine a light on the faults.
Good catch, MadMary! Keep them coming!

Seems like you would make a fine writer for the Watch Tower corporation.
God had the wicked spirits sent to the vicinity of Earth. So, of course, God only allowed that to happen, hands off.
And Jesus only allowed the comforting helper to be sent at Pentecost of 33.
As you said, it is a departure! That's the point; exactly as MadMary opened with the proverb: "add nothing"...
'Faithful in what is least' ?

Good post, MadMary.
And in the original Greek, 2:11 reads something like: 'God working within the error'...
Like you said, an active role, not an passive allowance.
Working is different from letting.
Letting is different from sending.
Doctrinal bias in translation... But Watch Tower will quickly point to something like one of Byington's works as a supportive alibi, even though Steven Byington himself saw both "faults and merits" in the Watch Tower scriptural translation works.

New Light, the teaching that has morphed into Old Alibi
by FatFreek 2005 inas far as i recall watchtower's new light doctrine was conceived from the very first issue of zion's watchtower and herald of christ's presence, 1879. c.t.
russell used it then as an alibi for his failed 1874 and 1878 dates.
1874 was eventually replaced by 1914 and the rest is history.. well, they've been using the alibi ever since -- for the some 24 failed events that were supposed to happen in 1914 to the 49 failed dates over the years.. at the heart and soul of watchtower's "new light" teaching is proverbs 4:18, ".

Everyone here should download the two links above. That is the hard evidence needed to make the case on Watch Tower false predictions.
Watch Tower has dark archived much of this old original material, or has elected against digitizing the material, effectively rendering it a daunting task for the general public to access. And to complicate it more, some of the material which has been digitized electronically for public release, was also modified to 'the reflect the correct understanding'... So now, the average person using JW apps or JW software, may not be viewing the information as it appeared when originally published.
This is a key topic for anyone inside of or outside of the Watch Tower organization that desire to know the facts about its plethora of false predictions.
@FatFreek 2005... Thank for posting this topic and including the two above links so anyone can easily see references to the old original literature published by Watch Tower which contain the false predictions.
Crucial too is knowing how Watch Tower, has to this day, continued to distort or omit its lengthy record of interpretational errors in an effort to rewrite its history and keep its masses ignorantly believing in its shape shifting interpretation of prophecy.
For example, their publication "God's Kingdom Rules!", published in 2014, provides a whitewashed portrayal of the 1914 prediction which conveniently omits the 24 failed events previously attached to its 1914 prediction which FatFreek outlines in the post links above.
"10. How did the Watch Tower point to 1914 as a marked year?
10 As its full title suggested, the journal Zion’s Watch Tower and Herald of Christ’s Presence was deeply concerned with prophecies pertaining to Christ’s presence. The faithful anointed writers who contributed to that journal saw that Daniel’s prophecy regarding the “seven times” had a bearing on the timing of the fulfillment of God’s purposes regarding the Messianic Kingdom. As early as the 1870’s, they pointed to 1914 as the year when those seven times would end. (Dan. 4:25; Luke 21:24) Although our brothers of that era did not yet grasp the full significance of that marked year, they proclaimed what they knew far and wide, with long-lasting effects."
Omitted also are the various other dated years Watch Tower taught to be of epic significance, but which proved to be prophetically meaningless.
In that modern one paragraph, Watch Tower history on the 1914 interpretation is over-simplified to portray it as a near perfect, cleancut, pristine prediction, which in the JW mind, permanently validates Watch Tower's "faithful anointed writers"...
The sad reality is that this is merely Watch Tower writers whitewashing over the wrong.
