  yeah, so i know nigel farage is a bit of an abrasive twat.. he no doubt holds views that other people disagree with.. but that doesn't mean his bank can just tell him to sod off and freeze his accounts.. such a thing might go on in commie china or authoritarian russia.

  no doubt hitler closed lots of jewish people's accounts in nazi germany, too.. but the fact that it is happening here, in the yew-kay, is pretty chilling when you consider this country is supposed to champion freedoms, including the one to hold and express varying political views.. this seems to be part of a trend to delegitimise and cancel people who hold certain views.. i remember looking at a yt video of richard dawkins questioning muslim journalist mehdi hassan about his belief in flying horses and muhammad.

  all fair analysis and criticism by dawkins until he suggested that hassan shouldn't be a journalist because of his beliefs.

  Interestingly, I was reading an article the other day. It speculated that the country most pushing for a cashless society was China. The reason been it gives the Chinese government greater control over people with differing political opinions. If, for what ever reason they don’t like you, they just close your account down and flush you out that way.

  I am absolutely convinced a gated community is his best option. It also reduces the risk of scandal. Just imagine the drama that would unfold if his bottle recycle bin was photographed over flowing with booze. Or roaming the streets pissed and incoherent. At least if it did happen, it certainly reduces the risk of him been seen.

  Like I said before, now that his address is public, it only going to take someone, with a perceived score to settle, and there could be serious consequences. I feel he could end up, at the least, been seriously assaulted

  I’m actually surprised that they didn’t think more on the security aspect of his residence. If he was in a gated community it would make getting access to him more difficult. It would only take someone with a mental imbalance, who wanted to settle a score with Tony. Then whamo you have got a similar scenario to what happened in Germany.

  i’m new to apostate stuff but have gone deep down a few rabbit holes of late so want to see both sides to everything .

  im going to a congregation but am viewed as a bit of a black sheep because i question lots of things but not enough to cause too much trouble.. i’m intrigued watching the show.

  in my heart i’m pretty sure the governing body are fakes and charlatans.. the entire thing is a big con game.

  Ok for the doubters out there. I’ll go back next weekend and take a photo. To be fair the title I used was was a bit of click bate-ish. But they did have their literature displayed on a table, that was free to take. It wasnt on a cart. Ironically one of the reasons I was given, for why the church was so wealthy was because of the extreme cost of translating all their publications into various languages. Omg I almost chocked on my cappuccino, when he said that. There was just no way anything was going to get through to this guy. Actually the following day I’m still thinking about my interaction with this guy.

  I was walking through a market today, and spotted LDS cart witnessing. So I thought, what the hell, I’ll give him a go.

  I focused on the character of Joe Smith. The wealth of the church. The 3 witnesses, and the Adam God doctrine. I got no where with him, as I tried to explain my JWisim in the context of mormonisim. Which was what I was expecting.

  What stood out to me was just how totally indoctrinated he was. Couldn’t even get a word in, and the guy just wasn’t listening. Then, like a bolt of lightening out of the sky, it occurred to me that I was once like this very person I was talking to. I think I learnt a valuable lesson today.

  Reddit post about elder asking congregation for money to fix his car!

  yes, there’s a post on reddit.

  it says that after a zoom meeting a request was made to baptized publishers to give $20 apiece to fix this elder’s car.. while this sounds highly irregular to me and not necessarily approved by the religion, i am not at all surprised at the nerve.

  this, unfortunately, seems to be the direction that things are going there!

  I actually know of a case where this happened. Except it was to buy this elder a car. He then managed to buy a car by applying to the lotteries board, through his sick wife. Yup you got it he got money from the people watchtower slams. I remember it been quite a scandal at the time. I was actually quite relived, at the same time, as I felt uneasy about if.

  elder friend of mine texted me asking what my rc attendance was 2 weeks ago (family and i streamed it since wife is not well).

  he told me that his rc in the jersey city assembly hall last weekend was low.

  co told them that around 2600 were the total from 16+ congs that were assigned.

  I can’t help but think what a joyless dark place watchtower is. As far as handing out microphones, and aspiring to be an elder in your 20s, what else is there to look forward to. One thing I’ll give the mormons full credit for doing, is organising events and activities where their youth can mix and mingle. Wt does absolutely nothing, and has got the results to prove it. Oh sorry they do, do something. Thats DF them when they go astray.
