And they wonder why there is no longer any youth left in the congregations. Cheers to that I say

Fancy dress up parties were banned by Elders after our 2nd one
by Witness 007 inso i grew up in a small town with lots of witnesses so being bored we had two fancy dress up parties now some brothers came with swords and fake guns as pirates or cowboys one brother who was a pioneer came dressed as a woman!

Slimboyfat: Why did you decide to write a topic on this site saying you were going back to the Jehovah's Witnesses?
by silentbuddha inthe topic concerning why the other user allows jw's by to eat is what prompted this thought in my mind.
maybe i am not remembering this correctly, but seem to remember a number of years ago that you decided to stop posting here and then all of a sudden you posted that this was an apostate website, you didn't want to be here, and that you were returning to jehovah.
( i may be slightly off, but it was something along those lines.. i am just wondering if you ever offered an explanation of why you did that?.

I can perhaps give some insight into this. Like slim, I to have attended a number of different religious denominations since leaving the JWs. In doing so it helped in understanding my JW past, and a form of therapy. I am still a Bible believing Christian,

Time of the end - a TRINITY puzzler.
by BoogerMan in(matthew 24:36) “concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the son, but only the father.".
(jesus seems to have forgotten to include the holy spirit not knowing either).
(acts 1:7) "he said to them: “it does not belong to you to know the times or seasons that the father has placed in his own jurisdiction.".

Predictions for the next decade?
by jehovaxx inas it’s nearly the new year my prediction over the next decade or so will see the sense of urgency dwindle.
then some huge huge changes.
for example by 2034 in a decades time, they will have address the 1914 issue and will come out and say we can’t be dogmatic.

Lots of people self-identify as JWs but don’t report time or check the box. Why they do so is a curiosity, but typically the census numbers are greater than WT-reported figures.
This is assuming that members of other religions have members that self identify with a particular group, although not been an official member. This is just not the case with Mormonisim. For example in the island of Tonga, the Mormon lists more practicing mormons the the population that lives on the island. Honestly you can't make this up.

Know it’s not true but stay anyway
by Elena inhow many of the millions of jws know it’s not true but stay anyway?.
my guess is most jws know it’s not true on a subconscious level to an extent but they don’t want to think about it too much and would never ever voice it out loud.. but this is probably true with all religions around the world?.

Well I can only speak for the country I live in. The census figure has always been twice that stated by watchtower. This is still the case at present. This figure is slowly starting to change, but not significantly. My argument, here in, is if the org is full of PIMOs they are certainly not choosing to identify as such when given the freedom to do so in the census.

The Governing Body is Restructuring the Org.and encouranging young ones to REACH OUT!
by liam inthe governing body just doesn't let up on encouraging the young children to reach out to do free labor for the organization.
so another generation of young people with ruined lives.
another generation of young people that will get old and wake up in their 50s to realize they were in a religious doomsday cult.. and they are getting rid of some old workers that ran the branches of the organization, and giving them different assignments or maybe they are just sending them home, who knows.

I can give a very good example of this in my local area. This guy was the longest serving CO, ever, in my country. He must of been in the job 40 years plus??? He was also a total arse, who I didn't like, and was known for his disparaging remarks about women. Anyway he managed to survive and stay in the job.
Mean while the Bethel here gets sold, money moves off shore, and because of his age he is no longer fit for purpose and is let go. I did hear that Wt was paying him money as a special pioneer, due to his long service. I'm just wondering if anybody else has heard of this and could confirm it. His first rented house he moves into isn't up to standard due to insulation, dampness, and rats. Luckily some kind soul rents him a place well below market rent. Fit for purpose but not by much.
I believe he is now in a nursing home suffering from dementia and despite the special pioneer allowance he recieves from Wt, and his personal savings. It would be no where near the amount required to keep him in a nursing home. What really pisses me off with this guy, is that it's now the tax payer that's fitting the bill. He can count his, bloody, lucky stars that he lives in a country that has a pretty good welfare system. If he didn't he could quite possibly be dead. This guy was a total arse for buying into it, and Wt just wiped their hands of any responsibility.

Is Belief in Jesus Enough to be Saved? Or Does it Include Believing Jesus?
by Sea Breeze ini don't think it is possible to believe in jesus and then not believe what he said.
the purpose of the watchtower organization is to take as many people to hell as possible.
they do this by tricking people into rejecting the bare minimum requirements for the free gift of salvation that jesus offered to ”whosoever”.. one of the stipulations for salvation is belief that jesus was raised from the dead:.

Is believing that a low fat diet will help me lose weight. Not unless I put it into practice.

What really annoys me about the above situation, is that it's now the tax payer that fits the bill for the nursing home, all the while Wt now wipes its hands of him and walks away. Where I talk about the substandard apartment I believe there was a problem with warmth and rats. I chose not to mention that. Lucky for him some kind soul took pitty on him, which got him out of that situation. How sad that the political wild beast, in Revelation, cares more about Gods faithful servant, than Jehovah's appointed here on earth. Wt if you read-this, for the way this guy got treated, I hope you rot in hell for it.
