  Yeah ADD I can kind of understand what you are saying. Although I never worked at Bethel I could never understand why they needed to have such a big building and have so many workers for what was essentially a distribution point. I mean all it was is a wearhouse were the literature would be shipped in from the printing Bethel, and from there it would be moved on to the various congregations.

  It's funny how I got here. I always wondered if JWs are so crash hot at applying bible principles in their marriages, then why hasn't the society ever come out and provided proof of it. Couldn't find anything statistically, so googled it, and wham-ooh up came JwFacts, and from there it just snow balled.

  Watchtower Society Scandal Involving Menlo Park Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses

  jw leaks has published court documents relating to the removal of the body of elders in the menlo park congregation of jehovahs witnesses (california, usa), the seizing of control of millions of dollars of congregation assets by watchtower bible and tract society of new york, and the related rico enterprise civil lawsuit against jpmorgan chase bank et al.. backstory: in 2010 the watchtower bible and tract society of new york seized control of millions of dollars of prime real estate assets belonging to the menlo park congregation of jehovahs witnesses, california, by forcefully removing the body of elders and dispersing the congregation.

  money invested by the congregation was also removed from their bank accounts by watchtower representatives.

  those within the congregation that objected to this were threatened with disfellowshipping.

  How the Internet Means 'The End' for Apostates and Opposers of the Society

  the received wisdom is that the internet has dramatically damaged the ability of the watchtower society to gain and retain followers.

  there was a very eloquent article to that effect written some time ago by a commentator who attempted to buttress his argument with reference to the postmodern condition and the breakdown of metanarratives in todays secular society, nay, even the come-back for enlightenment notions of truth.

  in the 1970/80s there were major challenges to the watchtowers theology (great crowd in heaven) and chronology (1914) in norway, alberta canada, dublin ireland and in the newyork bethel itself: but the damage caused by those involved in the dissent was limited because knowledge was dispersed merely through personal contact and minimal use of obscure publications that seldom met the eyes of witnesses innocent of the watchtowers doctrinal and chronological vacillations in any case.

  I have to say this is another interesting, thought provoking essay you have written. So the argument is that face to face contact is more effective than an online presence, and that information on the internet is more easier to filter and ignore. Although I can see what you are saying I don't agree that over all the society is better off, in that now ex-JWs choose just to slip away and say nothing, while frothing at the mouth on line. This argument doesn't stand up by the fact that increase has dramatically slowed down since the introduction of the internet.

  i am in the early stages of fading, and wishes to keep his contact with family. So I am choosing to say nothing and fade. i have traveled extensively and have built up many JW contacts over the years, and these are the ones I am working on. Its a fine line between placing doubts in ones mind and getting busted, so the internet has given the apostate community the ability for covert operations e.g been more cunning. The things that i have done and said on the internet I probably would of never been able to get away with in my local congregation. Well that my take on it.

  the letter read twice at our meeting stated that the travelling delegates should be at least 19 yrs of age, but be an exemplary publisher for over 20 yrs.

  Got Accosted by 2 JW Women While Pumping Gas Yesterday - Weird

  minding my own business while pumping gas - this 60 year old short jw lady with fluffed bun styled 60's hair and her 30 year old attractive 5 ' 10 inch jw lady partner came straight up to me as i'm pumping.
