  New congregation accounting system

  i'm sure i read a thread here about the new congregation accounting procedures.

  i ask because i handle the accounts in our cong and in our part of the world the new accounting system has just arrived whereby local congs do not have their own account any longer, but all funds outside of basic monthly costs is forwarded to an account controlled by the org.

  this is causing huge confusion in our cong as we have to work out how much we need to keep back for monthly costs and the new idea is that you send all your extra cash to the org and if you need it back you can ask for it but we don't know how easy or hard it would be to do that.

  I got to give it to the people of JWN. Every time I think I've heard it all. Unexpectedly someone puts a bomb under me and just detonates it. I'm in a state of shock at how I could not possibly know this. What a total idiot I am. Oops and sorry for the mess.

  this podcast is very interesting, especially the latter half.

  in a nutshell, the scheme is this: after determining that a complete kingdom hall remodel will cost the congregation $100,000.00, the regional building committee arbitrarily inflates the estimate to $250,000.00, fleecing the congregation and misappropriating the additional funds for other purposes.

  Look I'm a bit peved now. While I do admit the R&F are not permitted to get involved in politics, the Wt certainly has no problem with getting involved in political affairs when it suites them. 2 examples was the Jimmy Swagart affair with regard to taxation and the lobbying of the Bulgarian government to get legal recognition.

  I'm sorry mate but a lot of what you are saying just doesn't add up. I'm sorry but I'm struggling with the fact that you could study with someone for 3 years and not know about some of their key policies.

  On the way out = sorry you are wrong. The R&F can't form political opinions but it's quite ok for We to e.g taxation laws with the Jimmy Swagart affair. The deal they done to get recognition in Bulgaria etc.

  Six years , new location , no love.

  i had never thought about this that much until now.

  my wife and i have been living in this community for over 6 years now , and nobody has ever called upon my wife or myself for that matter, to encourage us back to the meetings as jehovahs witnesses , who have become inactive /faded .. the same goes for my son and his wife , who live in the same area , have never been contacted with the intent of trying to re-activate them.. admittedly, only a couple of times in these past 6 years we both my son and i , have had witnesses call upon us in the normal d2d work , without acknowledging if ever they knew we were non practicising witnesses .

  hard to beleive since my neice is in the local congregation , and is aware of our former congregations that we attended .. to cap it off , a few of our "freinds" who know where we are have never ever offered any encouragement or support in trying to get us back to their "truth ".

  I thought the case that I mentioned above was an isolated one but now I can clearly see there are others. You know I was driving past the hall a couple Saturdays back and I saw a car park of about 30 cars, with neatly dressed people with bags and ties. It just struck me how all these people are prepared to spend a day aimlessly walking around giving out mags, and yet the don't even know where an elderly member lives who is dying of cancer. Just really saddens me.

  Just another example. You think in the theocratic ministry school of the time thats taken up with knocking on doors trying to make new converts as apposed to the time spent in trying to retain them. Telling isn't it.
