in a way I kind of feel sorry for this Wendell guy. How he has sort of been dragged into it.

Will firing the DOs be the first step to a new Watchtower?
by Juan Viejo2 inagainst my better judgement, i've decided to share the following as a response to guy pierce passing and the announcement of the elimination of district overseers later this year.. late in january (2014) i got an email from one of my contacts (a fader) who served at bethel for several years, but is no longer at wt hq.
he still has a lot of close contacts within the service department and in other departments at patterson and knows people in all of the ny offices.
i kept this email set aside on a flash drive and haven't shared it with anyone - figuring i'd publish an article about it later this year when i had more time to do it right.

If they play around with the 144k you watch the R&F walk, like they did with the over lapping generations. But I guess it better to be sooner rather than later. BTW very interesting thread.

Whats the difference between a rank and file member and a G.B.member .
by smiddy inand r.& f. member , initially beleived with our whole soul that jehovahs witnesses had the ultimate truth over every other religion .. the differences between the g.b.
members and the r&f members is simply this.
members are given power and authourity by the r.&f members to dictate to them what they should beleive through new light revelations.

Profiling of an apostate
by joe134cd ini must admit when i was in, the idea i had of an apostate, was an angry bitter person who would picket out side a convention.
i was looking on jwservey and found on the respondents to a servey that 54% were either active members or fading members.
this made me wonder is the organisation underestimating the extent of apostasy.

The point that I am trying to make is, that the stereotypical type of apostate that the society would have us believe (e.g disfellowshiped. Is bitter and twisted for the position he/she has been put in, and is trying to get back at fellow members) is simply just not correct.
As the survey suggested an apostate (well at least 53% of the time) could be someone very much involved in the organisation, or is trying to lessen his involvement, and is more likely to say nothing when he dose leave.
I can give a good example of this. I used to have a return visit who was an inactive elder. He had been inactive for many years. I always got the impression he was a spiritual man even though not actively associating with the witnesses. Anyway I noticed shortly before his death he was reading the bible. Although I never found out why he went from Elder to inactive, I sort of wonder if he knew a bit more than he was letting on. Could he have been on of the 53%. God only knows.

What happened to the "Witness" part of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by donny ini just got back from my afternoon walk/run and about a block from home i saw two sets of jw's going door to door handing out invites to the memorial.. the first pair walked past me and only said "good afternoon" as they passed.. about two minutes later the second pair approached me and handed me an invite to 2014 memorial on april 14. i asked them why they chose the jw's as their church of choice and was told "we'd like to chat more but we have a set number of invites we have to get out before the memorial.
if you contact the kingdom hall listed here, they will tell you more... on how god's kingdom will rid the world of satan and the evil associated with him.".
i replied "you can't talk now?".

That just blows my away that they said that. If I genuinely knew nothing about the witnesses and I got a reply like that. It would be see you later amego.

Just got a call from an elder
by nolongerconfused inso i faded over a year ago...i told the elders that if i needed them i would call them.
1 year and 3 months later, today, i get a call from an elder who used to be my good friend...he calls and i dont pick up..he leaves a voicemail, saying "hello ____, please call me back at 444-444-4444 whenever you can".
i was like wow, this has to be one of those calls to get inactive ones back to the memorial.

I have never received a call from the elders, or been harassed, and that's the way I like it.

Adding further. Only 31% of respondents to the servey said they were disfellowshiped. So the idea of an "x" angry member who is trying to get back at an organisation, that he/she feels has screwed them over, is just not correct ( well if the sample size of this servey is a reflection of the bigger picture). This is quite a big reversal to my current thinking.

For those who still attend- When was the last time you had a Congregation Picnic or Get together?
by BU2B init seems that in my neck of the woods there is no social interaction between jws outisde of fs and the kh.
the last get together was 3 summers ago.
other than that there is no bond.

Very limited social events and it was this dissatisfaction that led me to here.

I was looking on Jwservey and found on the respondents to a servey that 54% were either active members or fading members. This made me wonder is the organisation underestimating the extent of apostasy. Based on this servey the profile of an apostate is in fact some one very much associating with the organisation, or trying to lessen his involvement. This completely reverses the idea of some one who is trying to draw off disciples after himself, but it is in fact someone who chooses to say nothing. I also strongly believe for every apostate who verbalises his ideas to the elders, the over whelming majority wouldnt. So what is the profile of an apostate. Thoughts please????
