It's a way of creating legal separation and accountability between them (e.g WTBTS assets) and the R&F. If their regional manager gets it wrong (e.g appoints an elder with a criminal record against children), then it could be argued by WT that the decision didn't come from them. All care but no responsibility. If the CO dose end up getting thrown under the bus, he has taken a vowl of poverty so there is nothing to be sued for. He could even apply for legal aid.

Although I'm a big fan of bringing the watch tower down and he has every right to be pissed off with them. I think this sort of behavior just confirms in the dubbies mind that they are an oppressed people and they have the truth. I sort of would discourage this behavior. But anyway it helped the guy get it off his chest so power to him.

I wonder just how big the problem is amongst the witnesses. I knew one guy who was an elder and honestly you wouldn't have thought butter would melt in his mouth. I always wondered why his kids turned out so bad. Found out latter why he was hitting his wife.

The Governing Body told two Elders to call !!!!
by Phizzy ina friend from the other end of the country just 'phoned and told me that a couple of days ago two elders knocked on his door.
he has been out for four or more years.. they told him it was c.o's visit, and the governing body have asked them to call on those whom they no longer see at the k.hall.. i guess this is an easier "field" than knocking on doors that never open, or where they are told "not interested".. my friend bill though, was not such an easy call.
apparently he managed to get in about 1914 being rubbish, the bible not being the word of god, because we cannot trust it, 1919 being rubbish as to the choosing of the fds and several other telling points.. i liked particularly that he said to them they were rather hypocritical asking householders to examine their faith, when jw's were simply not allowed to !.

Looking at it from a jw perspective the thing I find puzzling is how an organization is prepared to spend countless man hours and billions of dollars pissing people off trying to give them magerzines, yet will do relatively nothing to retain it's members. From my perspective I'm quite glad they do near nothing.

I must clarify my above post. This is what I was told 2nd hand from a friend. I have no concret evidence to prove this. The reason I remember this was because at the time I was learning about how child abuse was been handled. So this sort of confirmed what I already knew.

I was just having a conversation with a witness with regard to domestic violence that his fleshly sister experienced. I failed to ask how long ago this was but he did say the elders advised not going to the police. BTW he also stated that his sister is still married to the abuser.
