Isn’t it funny how been at the hall was were Jehovah’s spirit was. How been present at the book study would help the connective cohesion with our bros and sis, for the great trib. Heaven forbid don’t ever put any JW material, or worse meet a virtual JW, on the internet. My how times have changed, and the JWs are none the wiser.

Meetings
by pontoon inso remember how assembling together is a command and no man or government can stop us, even if it means going 'underground', even if means being arrested, jailed, beat....can't stop us from assembling together----until covid.
now it's "false regligion" fighting for their constitutional right to meet together while the jws seem to be perefectly happy zooming their lives away..

So What Religion do You Claim to be when Entering Hospital?
by mikronboy ini've had a few medical procedures.
once, i had a massive loss of blood and needed 6 units of blood to replace the loss.
however, i'm curious as to what ex's state to be their religion when filling out the required paperwork when being admitted into a hospital.

Australian jws/branch warned of possible loss of charity status.
by Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice. inhello all interested persons,.
whilst driving to work this morning listening to the radio, my ears pricked when the presenter began talking about jws.
it was on a programme which airs between 8.00 and 8.30 entitled am, and broadcast on the abc national radio.

Yes I have to agree with shepherdess. The redress scheme is just out of the question. It would bankrupt them. Trust me they have weighed the situation up, and it more economically viable to lose their tax free status than to pay out the victims.

73 years old, a Witness for 48 years, an elder for 24 years, Baptized just before 1975. WOKE UP!
by pistolpete ini thought i would post an encouraging experience i found today.
i've been seeing a lot of 70-80 year old jws waking up, and their children are posting their experience on reddit.
these are old elders, pioneers, circuit overseers who have given their everything and finally at the end of their life, are walking away.. maybe the key to waking up is that a person has to have a deep sense of right and wrong.

I’m really in two minds about this. Will it, in the short term, be liberating in gaining his freedom or will kill him when the realisation sets in that he’s lost everything by been shunned. In the case of my my elderly father it would be an unkindness to wake him up.

how do spouse's treat their partners if they leave the cult?
by mickbobcat inso i was fortunate enough to have a wife that listened and saw what i was saying was true and that the cult is bs.
but i wonder how bad it is in a relationship that one goes out of the cult and the other stays in.
i can see that being a real issue for a marriage.

In dealing with my father. I sincerely hope he never wakes up. It’s the white elephant in the room that’s never talked about.

Jehalapeno - I cut and pasted this from a reply I made in another thread. Your an idiot and deserve to live in Texas (even if you reside in another state)
I think basically it began to flourish through people
(a) Having a me first attitude and to Hell with everyone else. If I want to do it I’m going to do it and no one is going to stop me.
(B) People just not listening.
I live in a country where people did listen. The threat was taken seriously with immediate shut down. None compliance was meet with public naming and shaming on national TV, and court appearances. I think the results speak for themselves really. Covid is almost a thing of the past. I’ve kept my job, house prices are booming with very low interest rates, and the local economy is in good shape compared to other western countries. The present government that handled the covid situation, steam rolled the opposition in the elections a few weeks back, and it has been stated that the election was won on the handling of Covid. I don’t think it was a case of the opposition doing badly but rather the present government doing well. I must admit this was a major factor in my voting decision. I think for a relatively small country, of only a couple of million people, we are the envy of the world.
I’m my opinion this “to hell with anyone else attitude” can be seen with gun laws in the USA. Right to bear arms, first amendment, and absolutely no one is going to tell me anything else. Now, like covid, they have got a problem that is almost out of control. https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5657575071678464/walmart-pulling-guns-ammo
Telling indeed.

I would just like to add to my comments about abstinence from various vices. I can’t help but think that a lot of the 18-30 year olds who learn the TTATT and exit, do so because they want to participate in these things. Usually with the lack of life skills, and little family support, they soon find themselves with dependency issues or in a less than favourable relationship.
Using myself as an example. When I left I was a lot older. I exited purely for intellectual reasons and not for physical. By and large I still live the same life style as I did when I was JW, just minus all the bullshit from watchtower.
I think young people who leave the jw thinking that they can now have a lifestyle with out rules. Can end up very disappointed

Couple of things would like like to point out.
You would be the envy of a lot of people here to have awoken in your mid 20s. Regretfully I was in my 30s before I walked out the door.
To DA or just to fade, that is the question. In my mind for what DAing accomplishes as opposed to what it causes. For the tears, stress and hassal both to you and your family I just don’t think it’s worth it. Please consider this carefully.
If your goal is to fade, then the less talking to elders that you do the better. Just be thankful you got out when you did, and move on.
I’d also like to reiterate, to abstain from alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, and sleeping around. Also stay away from places that encourage this behaviour. Remember with freedom comes responsibility for our actions.
That’s my advise and good luck.

Conversation with my PIMI Dad concerning zoom meetings
by joey jojo inin a recent conversation with my dad, i asked how he was enjoying the zoom meetings.
he lives in a rural part of australia, virtually untouched by covid-19, in fact, the state he lives in has a limit on religious gatherings of 300, which could easily handle the average attendance of congregation meetings.
so i asked why don't they resume meetings as usual?.

Just to change direction a little, as I am in the same dilemma with my father. When you factor in his age, health, and mental health do you think he is better off left in JWorg.
In my situation, and don’t get me wrong here, I’m a rabid apostate, but I think it would be a huge disservice to his well being if he suddenly woke up or jworg went broke. To be honest I’m actually happy that he’s still in it.
