Just adding to the 5 cases I mentioned above. I know a further case of an elder. Outwardly he just screamed gayness. His now wife, before she married him, was warned by her parents about his femininity. He has now been happily married for 50 years to his childhood sweet heart, and has grandkids.

If you think Watchtower is disappearing any time soon…
by Reservations inyou are sadly mistaken.. i hear people say it on here all the time, and dare i say his name *cough* lloyd evans *cough* has said it a number of times, that watchtower is running scared and watchtower is in decline….. we need to put in perspective the decrease from the 2020 report.
if we calculate a yearly -0.6 decrease over a 10 year period from 2020 figures it leaves us the grand total number of witnesses of:.
by 2030: - 7,933,479. by 2040: - 7,471,357. by 2050: - 7,036,154. i agree that this is a significant decrease, but let’s not kid ourselves, the wt organisation will still be alive and well even with an annual 0.6% loss.

Also bear in mind that 1844 date is also referred to as the great disappointment. So its been openly acknowledged that the date was wrong for the end of the world. also this 1844 date was only one, of a couple of predictions, that proved to be false. The invisible presence had to be adopted by Miller just to save face. Interestingly, to this day, the SDA will openly acknowledge that this 1844 date was wrong regarding the end of world, but the beginning of the tarrying work (sheep and goats). This belief also is paralleled with the JWs.

Two observations here.
(1) I just saw a segment on the 4 corners documentary involving Erwin Zalkin. The U.S lawyer involved in the law suites against watchtower. I couldn’t help but think how much he has exponentially aged. In the time that I have been watching him, for just under a decade, i was surprised at the accelerated rate at which he has aged. To be honest I thought he looked a rather frail, physically weak, old man. I guess dealing with WT has proven to be a tough nut to crack and has taken its toll. Just wondering if anyone else picked up on this.
(2)For those Australians out there. Im curious about how the 4 corners documentary was received in the PIMI JW community.

I would put it to the good people here that WT has done considerably well in its present environment. I would doubt the incidence of child abuse would be any greater, than say, the Boy Scouts. The mistake WT made was documenting it and their approach to it e.g 2 witnesses & Satans world. I watched the doco that aired in Australia last night and it was damning. This has to have an impact on wt. I believe they will probably go bankrupt before they lose their ideology.

Were early Gentile Christians familiar with the FATHER OF JESUS?
by pistolpete inthe first christians were mainly of jewish decent and christianity began as a jewish sect.
jesus was a thoroughly dedicated practicing jew who never suggested the launch of a new religion.
jesus lived and died a dedicated jew.

1995 generation change
by Gorb innow, many years later, i remember the 1995 generation change, very well.. since early youth, hearing my father explaining in field service the 2520 years.
it was his main theme in the field.. with the change my doubts started.
with some jw friends we did not trust the organization anymore.

Lawsuit: I said GB member Barr that my Bethelite stepfather abused me; he did nothing
by Corney inhere's an excerpt from the recent lawsuit deborah hines v. watchtower bible and tract society of new york et al (paragraphs 158-180), one of 29 known cases brought against the org pursuant to the ny child victims act.
what should be kept in mind is that gerrit lösch apparently worked in europe (the austrian branch and eastern europe) at the time when the abuse was allegedly reported to him (not a gb member then).. plaintiff was raised a member of the jehovah’s witnesses.
she primarily attended meetings at various congregations in arizona.

Like I said it all comes down to documentation. The proof is in the pudding.

Is this New Light coming or just some crackpot?
by pistolpete inthis experience was posted about a year ago.
it seems like a crackpot co was giving his prediction of what "might possibly happen in the future" .
now it seems like he wasn't such a crackpot after all.. quote.

I wanted to add, that this explanation would end the 1914 last days doctrine.
If he got up and gave that explanation for a generation in a public talk. He would, very quickly, find himself in front of a judicial committee facing accusations of apostasy.
