  Are Baptism numbers going down?

  I've noticed that last few years majority getting baptised are young & have jw parents. Very few from d2d work... The one person I knew who was baptised thru d2d work became inactive after a year later. We caught week last week. I planted a few seed subtle seeds - I don't think they will set foot in a KH again. Mission accomplished!!

  Another Witness Goes on about Syria and the Big "A"

  was speaking with a jw about an issue of mutual interest and he went on about how close we are to the end and "we just dont know how this syria situation may turn the un against religion".

  gimme a break.

  but this time, first ever, there was despair in his voice as if he didn't believe it any longer.

  Given that so many have given up so much to be part if this religion, they look for ANYTHING that could mean the big A is almost here as it would mean all that they sacrificnotes not in vain. My auntie always points out that the big A is soo close each time she sees any thing bad on the news. So yes, I hear this blah blah blah every time I see her....

  to all who are still active...& those who are not...... is everyone ready for wt for sunday....1914....is everyone ready to see the friends faces, that will pretend all is well.

  but their minds will be racing.

  i started the article...talk about confusing...but maybe on purpose only a few in the hall will be able to break it down.

  I agree with Steve2, apathy is their greatest threat. I didn't even register the generation changes coz I switch off what they talk about from the platform. I have been doing that for years & I know I'm not the lonely one - Its just so booorrriiinnnggg.... My friend in another congo wld go to the toilet & spend half the meeting catching up on the latest gossip with close friends, the other half trying to stay awake. During our DC over the years we spent more time at the local cafe having coffee's than we did listening to the sessions. The cafe during the sessions is the best meeting place for many jw's. The apathy seems to be getting worse each year amoung many. But it sure keeps yr social life busy...

  "Worlds Apart" A danish movie about a young coming of age Jehovahs Witness , screening on SBS2 tonight in Victoria

  i know their have been screenings of this movie before , but this notice is for any newbies here that may not have seen it previously.

  it is scheduled to screen at 10:25 pm on ch.32 sbs2 sun.25/8/13 .

  maybe other states in australia can view it on-line , or request it be shown by sbs in their state.. it is an interesting movie , and apart from minor flaws , pretty accurate despite the beard,though i am told the danes are a bit more liberal than the west.. the real / actual jehovahs witness this story is based on has a cameo appearance near the end of this movie in the train sequence.. please let me know if you watch it and your thoughts about it .. smiddy.

  i've been lurking a month or two and letting out a comment here and there.a few weeks ago someone asked if i had formally introduced myself.

  i was born and raised a witness.

  i always found meetings borning and family studies so bad.

  ...i might drop in every now and then but i hope you all enjoy life, escape the watchtower(r) and live prosperous lives.. i can't say i contribute much here anyway (and i'm not attention seeking).. i'm just going to get on with life away from the constant reminder of the mistakes i made being a jw zombie drone.. i guess i'm just going to fade.......rather quickly.. of course i didn't need to make any posts here to disappear but i thought it'd be polite and very british to bid you all a fond farewell.. see you all sometime.....maybe.....maybe not.....maybe....... bye!.
