CO's visit ends with a bombshell!!!
by nowwhat? inat the end of his final talk he said of the gb: they are telling the higher ups , "start getting ready we're not going to be around much longer!
" and we expect the angels to release the four winds any day now!
" my first thought was why are you building a corporate country club then?!

here are a few points i thought of...please feel free to add!.

Smiling at a Disfellowshipped JW instead of Completely Ignoring him
by ProfCNJ ini was driving our car going to our assigned territory for our sunday field minsitry (was with jw 2 sisters) when i saw a disfellowshipped jw riding his motorcycle heading towards us.
the guy was df'd around 2 months ago only (won't delve much on his case).
approximately about 10 meters, we saw him smile.

I always said a hello or smiled to any d'fed ones I knew and never removed any d'fed friends frm fb when I was active. I could never understand back then why we treated d'fed ones so cruelly when we were supposed to be such a loving religion. I also recently connected with my d'fed sister. I never shunned her but it's amazing how talking about TTAT can bring u closer together. My hairdresser is also d'fed - it's amazing how many jw's still go to her...

I had a Tarot card reading
by LisaRose inso, i am in washinton state visiting my son and his family and we went to a concert that had a fortune tellers booth, actually a gypsy wagon.
i decided to do something no jw would ever do, have a tarot card reading.
i wasn't really expecting anything, as i don't believe they are connected with the satan, but i don't believe they can actually read your future either.

I've had a few readings done... They had always intrigued me when I was a JW but of course it was a big no-no. The first one got some things right, but was way off with other things. the second one was very accurate. She asked u to write down as many questions u wanted answers to and asked u to fold the paper and place it in yr bag or pocket (she wasn't in the room when I did this) and at the end of the reading she asked u to look at yr questions to make sure she answered it. Her accuracy was so spot on, it kind of freaked me out. She was accurate with names of friends & families - even those that have passed. I will have to wait a couple of years to see just how accurate she was - but so far, she's been spot on... I also had one that was so way off - it was a joke.

Full-time service is MORE IMPORTANT than taking care of elderly parents!!! It says so in the Sept 2014 WT
by EndofMysteries inparagraph 20 out of the article in the sept 2014 study wt about fulltime service says this.... .
"full-time servants age, and so do their parents.
when parents are witnesses, likely their fondest wish is for their children to stay in their assignments.

This really makes my blood boil!!! I am the primary carer for my mum (she is in a wheelchair) and have managed to keep a full time job and a pretty active personal & social life which hasn't been easy. My super-dub elder brother does nothing And hasn't for years. His wife works only 1 day a week so she could 'pioneer' - she now sits on her ass all day instead. No help with the endless doctors and specialists appointments or anything else. He's never even offered to take his own mum to the meeting - another elder comes and takes her instead. When they made him an elder I was so pissed off, it was what stopped my going to meetings. I bumped into our CO not long after they made my brother an elder and I said 'my brother treats his own mum like crap, and what do you guys do? You reward him. Even the wordly people I work with think his treatment of his mum is disgraceful, but I guess you guys don't really care what wordly people think'. he looked a little dumb-founded and lost for words....
rant over....

Handing in '' Field Service Report '' even if you're very ill.
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy mom has not been to any meetings or participated in field service since august 2013. she cannot walk due to all her medical conditions.
she is either in bed or sitting in a wheel chair.. our family hired a caretaker monday - friday to help her eat, take her to the bathroom and sit with her in case she needs anything.
in the evenings and weekends, we have family members take care of her.

A few years ago when I first stopped FS, an elder who came to 'visit' us for some 'encouragement' suggested I put in a report for an hour even if i didn't go out for that month, and reasoned that I could just make that time up the following month. My response was 'so your asking me to lie on my report? What if I don't go out next month? What then? Do I lie again next month?' I went on to give him a bit of a lecture on what 'Jehovah' thinks of lying. At that stage I still believed it all (as a born in) but struggled with attending meetings regularly & FS. It was small things like this over a few years made me start doubting this religion.
