i was given the "privilege" to open the kh early to switch on the heating.

they even gave me my own set of keys.. every saturday night, me and another jw would drive to the kh with our amps and guitars and .

jam until the early morning, using the stage and the kh's pa system.

If you decided to try a church, which one would you try?and why?

i have been thinking of doing something i have wanted to for along time, just to see, that is go to a church.

i guess i am a little afraid , or nervous , more than anything, but i feel i ready to venture out there and see what it is about,,,,,,,,,,,lol, i might not stay , i just want to try it.. i just want to give it a chance and right now i have no reason why i shouldnt if i go in with my eyes open.

i dont know what religion to start with,,,,,,,,, i figure this may be a journey on finding what feels right to me, or it could end up i stay home and do my own worship , who knows.. i know there are many christains on this board and i would be interested in hearing why you choose the faith you did, if it is methodist, catholic, baptist, or other mainstream ones.. i am also interested in other forms of religion some have choosen, and why?

hi lyin eyes good question , its pretty confusin out there in the ex jw religious world isnt it ,some say one way some say another , i would suggest that you ask god to guide you and leave it to him .as a christian i believe jesus when he said in john 14 v14 that if you ask me anything in my name i will do it .so just try it out and ask that he lead you into all truth you wont be disappointed -danny

how many former jehovahs witnesses are there from merseyside

hi guys i posted on this forum a couple of months ago to find out how many ex jws there are from my region, i am interested to find out how many have left the witnesses and perhaps start a support group for ex jws in our area

i used to work in park road post office in 1995 and remember the shooting of david ungi , do u know grenville braithwaite , he was involved in the toxteth riots before becoming a jw though i dont think hes one know though im not sure

sure is ,funny that you should mention the beatles as i worked round the corner from penny lane and strawberry fields and the house were john lennon was raised was practically right opposite were i worked on menlove avenue plus my mum dated the beatles first manager alan williams when they were called the silver beetles many years ago

Verses that bothered you as a JW

we find god's name "jehovah" so many times in the old testament, but not at all in the new testament.

jesus is called a "mighty god" in the bible.

jesus is also called "father".

one that really troubled me was were god said to abraham that his seed would be as numerous as the stars of heaven and as the sands of the seashore that cannot be counted ,then check out galatians 3v29 and eph 4 v5 and try to reconcile the notion of only 144,000 going to heaven , i never could and still cant

some of you may be familiar with the international churches of christ , a breakoff cult from the churches of christ years ago.
