Thanks.
The forums don't seem to be quite as active as the multiple JW forums - but alot of similarities.
There's some interesting comments from ex mormons as to their views of JW' (their views when they were active mormons)
does anyone find it odd that it seems there's less of a vocal apostate movement for scientology and mormons.
i'm getting this from google - i can't seem to find any majour forums like this one, or websites that are regularly updated exposing doctrines etc.. there is stuff out there, but from my search at least it doesn't seem to be as much as jw's.. strange considering mormons have 13 mill (?).
scientologists 'claim' 8 mill.. .
Thanks.

candace conti's respondent's brief is now on file.
please do your thing!.
Where can I find this?
i left the jws and went to a baptist church which was far better than anything i'd known before having been born into the dangerous cult of the watchtower corporation.. having travelled a path of spirituallity i have concluded that there is no god evident to me.
evolution?
i have no idea...i just live my life knowing that when i die there is nothing after it.
It's not about you, it's about them. It's like witnessing - the reason for it is to bolster their faith - not save peoples lives.
curious.. if not would anyone like to help me pen a very 'assertive' letter ?.
just for the hell of it, see if we get a response ?.
I sent a contentious letter (UN and Conti) though I wasn't slamming them completely (just implying). Got a reply two weeks later. Sent a second letter that was a bit more contentious and haven't got a reply yet.
Shredder you think?

What are you pet subjects?
Instead of starting a new thread I'm just going to ask something in this one (which may be relevant) hope you don't mind:
If I was an ex - JW, that had moved away from original congregation and had been technically 'inactive' for about ten years, no contact with any JW's. Then wrote some letters to HQ that are fairly critical of loads of things (the usual topics) would this trickle through to a judicial committee or would they just leave me be?
to those i shunned:.
sorry to every single person i shunned while still asleep.
it's rather funny that now im the one reaching out.
Don't sweat it - you were just under mind control. Just don't let it happen again ;)
sorry to post so many topics lately.
trying to get some info for a project.. i'm after some quotes from watchtower that brag how the watchtower society answers any questions jw's have and how christondom don't (or it doesn't have to have the christendom part in it).
any help appreciated.
Thanks Shirley!
Thanks Blondie. This was a bit of a tricky one for the search function - but I think what's been provided should do the trick. Thanks!

Oh I know they don't answer questions.
But what I'm thinking is the countless examples at Assemblies of people saying they used to be Catholic - then the JW's raised some questions which they asked their church leaders but couldn't get an answer so were disallusioned then became a JW because they could answer all their questions.
Also, I'm sure I've read something like the Watchtower society is not like Christendoms 'untouchable' leadership that will refuse to answer hard questions.

Strange considering Mormons have 13 mill (?)
Scientologists 'claim' 8 mill.
On a side note, where would you place the Watchtower as a mind controlling group - in bigger mainstream cults?
