CO Visit
by TemeculaMole incurrently the co is visiting the congo (congregation).
sadly i was not paying much attention to his talk and by the time he got to something interesting i wished i was listening.. he was babbling on about identifying a "pattern" and how the jw's have a pattern of identifying the truths (trininty, hell, etc).
it got interesting when he bgean to say dont worry about the mistakes made, we have a pattern of truth and these mistakes should be ignored (my paraphrase).

If I knew it was wrong I wouldn't do it!
by WantTheTruth ineven after a year of thought regarding religion, and inparticular the jw faith... i am still no further forward as to whether i should go for it.. i realise that practically everyone who reads this post will be anti-jw; but i appeal to your unbias/ neutral side... if thats possible.. both sides have their own point of view... both are very convincing; i am just not sure what will "clinch the deal".. all i know is that i cannot go on like this for much longer!.
soul-destroying is an understatement!.
yours in desperation.... wtt

WantTheTruth? Is that really true? How serious are you about "wanting the TRUTH?"
In order to find truth we must uncover what is false. Do you know where the Bible comes from? How it was constructed and with what agenda? Shouldn't one research that first? before investigating religions that base their entire existence upon it? For a starter I suggest books along the lines of: A History of God, by Karen Armstrong The Christ Conspiracy, by Acharya S. The Book Your Church Doesn't Want You to Read, b y Tim C. Leedom If you "really" want the truth -- then don't screw around. JamesT

Why can't you see it?
by Gig init's very hard trying to help a jw see the truth, and just as hard it seems to describe that difficulty.
how about this, you all remember those computer generated images that, at a glance, looked like a random set of dots or colors, no patterns or pictures.
you had to get your eyes to focus differently and adjust to the "hidden" image.

I don't feel that the analogy quite cuts it, Gig. The people who where looking at the dots where actively looking for something. Brain cells were working to understand. The Witnesses are not looking for anything. Brain cells are functioning only to keep the book from falling on the floor, and keep the lungs breathing. I sense it is mainly the heart that finally screams "I can't take this anymore! This is not right!".....if it is listened to at all. JamesT

Night of the Living Dead
by JamesThomas inwhen you sit and ponder, it is plain that life is lived in the moment.
often times, if not always, the most joyous moments are those when we are so present that all thoughts of "me" are gone and there is just this vibrant aliveness, beauty and warmth.
it's as if we have dissolved into life.

Thanks, all of you, for your replies. When I dwell on the wounds and why they are there, it takes me away from here. So I don't do it much. Yet, it seems to help some to recollect a bit, and realize one is free from where we have been.

It's as if we have dissolved into Life. Being raised a Witness, I was always taught that here, now, was not important. That significance was in the future. I was taught it wasn't important to express myself artfully or embrace life now. I was taught to be afraid of life and put everything meaningful off to some later time...I was taught and programmed to be dead.

Monkey, True peace is something that we find within us. Words and beliefs can not give it to you. If I may, I would suggest spending more time in nature and feeling what it's like to be alive now, in the moment, without thinking about it. There is a deep peace that we carry within, we just don't realize it because we are too focused on the drama of the mind. Learn to be still and meditate quietly on the sense of silent being within you. You don't need to make a formal practice out of it. It's something you can do while walking or doing the dishes, or whatever. Find the peace that is you. JamesT

More Photos - Sorry. I'm New at This.
by Francois inok, here is the first diskfull of photos of my new little fisherman, crabber, shrimper and lothario.
notice how in every picture, even when you can't see 'em, there's a feminine-type person holding him.
may this continue for the next 25 years until he's out of college and ready to select one to give his pore ol' grandpa a great grandson or daughter.
