how many gb members does it take to change a lightbulb ?.
none, the writing department does the dirty work.
Is it really relative?
They seem to always be in the dark.

visiting a few jw/xjw forums lately, i'm reminded of phrases that have been never been brought to mind for 25 years.
(king of the north, jonadabs, etc, etc.
) i got to thinking again about that infamous old harlot, babylon the great.
Love the post.
She certainly screwed me.

Hello and welcome Thomas, Dear fellow, it is not necessary to continue loving and adoring an idea of god who will kill you if you don't. To worship a god with lower morals than Hitler, is a disease which needs a name. Perhaps reading books like" History of God", by Karen Armstrong, and similar books may help you lose the fear that has been so deeply programmed into you. I wish you peace, JamesT
yes thats right , jesus of course .
only then will our prayers be answerd, .
what does the borg teach on this life and death subject whom do they claim is mans mediator, are they sining aginst ho;y spirit when they make this blasphemouse claim that they are mans mediator and not the christ.
Is Jesus your mediator? to death and back? Have you read Crisis of Conscience? It exposes the Witness Organization as far less than what we hoped. Generally speaking, it took guts and a desire to know truth for us to read it, especially if we were still associated with the JW's". Why stop there? There are many well written and researched books (e.g.: The Christ Conspiracy, by Acharya S.) that expose Christianity as far less than what we hoped. On the surface this can be quite a tragedy, to have the rug of our deeply cherished ideas of Truth/God pulled out from under us. It is understandable that many would never consider voluntarily going down such a road, it is too terrifying to even think of. Yet, if we are willing to have our false beliefs about God, exposed -- does that not open the door to what is True? My answer to your question Nightwarrior is: "no". I need not look to any deity, object, or phenomena, to mediate, or be an intermediary between me and God (or rather, the Infinite, the word points to) as there is and was, no separation in the first place (except in my mind and it's religious beliefs). throughout the years after having come to know through your marriage to my daughter you have been a very kind and thoughtful person, sometimes more than my own son.
i don't think that a mother-in-law could want a finer person for a son than you.
however, it is very unfortunate that i will have to change the way that i will relate to you now and in the future.
You may be right Farkel. Perhaps we should give back the same has was given. Perhaps we should let the Witnesses dictate the rules by which we live. But, if their way is the right way. We're screwed. JamesT
this is a customer review from amazon.com for the famous book mankinds' search for meaning by victor frankl.
what do you think of his comments?
do you agree or disagree, and why?
Appreciation for one beautiful sunset has more spiritual power and appreciation for life to me than all the thousands of meetings I went to and endless JW literature that I read.
The reason for this is simple....yet we miss it for most of our life.
Beauty (all meaning really) is in the eye of the beholder. It is an intimate inner experience. It is right here, right now.
For the Witnesses, meaning and beauty is put off, to some abstract future, place and time.
If there is a God, or what that word points to, it's life and meaning will be experienced and discovered within, as close as the awe of a sunset.

Black sheep, I understand your view and it seems to indeed be the most popular. But, we know how the Witnesses think (or should I say not-think and instead act under programming). A Witness confronted with hostility will not wake up, but instead see the animosity as proof that -- in this case Yesterdays Child -- is evil and of the Devil and should be shunned. They'll use it as justification. When a Witnesses comes face to face with friendliness, were they expect hatred, they're taken off guard, it doesn't compute. It's a flaw in the matrix. And, it just may -- though admittingly unlikely -- wake then up. My sense is that love wins in the long run. Though I certainly understand the pain and suffering of this situation. JamesT
