  2015 has an extra second is anyone afraid?

  the year 2015 will have an extra second which could wreak havoc on the infrastructure powering the internet.. at 11:59 p.m. on june 30, clocks will count up all the way to 60 seconds.

  that will allow the earth's spin to catch up with atomic time.. the earth's spin is gradually slowing down, by about two thousandths of a second per day, but atomic clocks are constant.

  that means that occasionally years have to be lengthened slightly, to allow the slowing earth to catch up with the constant clock.. but last time it happened, in 2012, it took down much of the internet.

  When you finally realize that most of what you had been taught was false and you wake up to the lie; you have to pinch yourself to see if you’re dreaming.  Then you wonder, how you could have been fooled when the answers were right in front of you.

  So very wise and true, 7starz (welcome).

  However, letting go of once cherished JW beliefs, is only the beginning of clear seeing of what is unreal.

  What answers remains in front of us -- unseen?

  Be diligent and watch as old beliefs are replaced by new ones. Perhaps even beliefs we call non-beliefs, but still we take our imaginations to be “true”.

  The characters may change, but the story remains the same.

  As I've said many times and many ways: a mystic may not believe reality is anything but what the

  mind of man convinces him of--but--the mystic always enters and leaves the room through the door and NOT the WALL!

  As long as the mind is the sole arbitrator of “reality”, there is only the “room”, a seemingly door-less one.

  The “mystic” (or whatever) simply sees the always open portal, lets go and falls in (yet, from the view of others, everything remains pretty much the same).

  Seems like we're back at the Analogy of the Cave. Wouldn't it be nice to strip naked, run outside and get some sun?

  believe what we will, we still live in the real world and what happens to us proceeds from confrontations unavoidable.. the christian scientist can die from an illness which (to him) does not exist.. the hindu can starve to death in a pasture full of sacred cattle.. the jehovah's witness can sell his house and pioneer full time as he tears the pages from his 1975 calendar in exasperation.. and many is the parent who prays for mercy over the child who dies.. to think or not think is our choice.

  the content of our thought can be real or illusory.

  the progress report comes at the end of each day as we lie in bed and count the costs of our beliefs.. .

  Actually, if we stop THINKING about anything, and just be silently present with the reality and beauty of life in and around us, the world would be way friendlier. Or better yet, lets all get anxious and think our way into the nut-house with Terry. Think of the parties we could have.

  i have protestants, jw's and mormons praying for my soul, (think you very much).. what do you say when you are told that??

  i am so much better since i left the borg, physically, mentally and financially.

  but just in case the protestants(jesus) are right or the mormons or maybe jw, if i meet my maker i will tell him or her i plea insanity.. my deity, i knew not who's prayers was being answers on my behalf, my eyes were open but didn't know where it came from.

  Funny, how fitting is the prophet and the fool icons. You have lots of deep intellectual and Biblical knowledge and information to share, (most left unmentioned). I have nothing, no reference to anything other than my own simple and nonsensical questions and observations.

  Thank you again for your extensive reply. It is certainly understandable (and honorable IMHO) your sincere desire to discover the deepest truths and expose the mind of “God”; and it can be pretty exciting at times traveling the twist and turns, drama and intrigue of the master story-teller, the mind. Problem is, even though we may have a strong sense of certainty that we are genuinely getting somewhere, can we actually get to truth from whimsical representations which are inherently erroneous?

  It's way simple. For example: any “knowledge” that the mind can relate to us about a tree, is not in any way connected to the actual, dynamic, aliveness of a tree. The very best the mind can offer up regarding a tree is abstract words and thoughts. Ideas, concepts and pretty scientific-graphs that are light-years removed from the reality we call a “tree”. If the mind completely fails at the level of a tree, how much more so when it comes to the ultimate truth or the infinity of God?

  Seemingly, with eyes which can not see what is obvious, we foolishly give the intellectual mind the definitive and unquestionable authority to define our own identity, and the nature of “God” and/or reality. We give it the power to designate our entire sphere of “truth” via its empty, artificial and imaginary constructs that are anything – but true. Welcome to the matrix where little, if anything -- is actually real.

  Lost in the matrix of the mind we are aware of nothing else. We worship, and embrace the images formed by the mind, and millions sincerely believe that they know “God's” thoughts and truths. Many have and will die and kill in the name of “holy and righteous” matrix-monkey-mind ideas, often passed down over thousands of years via words in matrix story books. None of it based in actual truth, if it was there would be harmony and unity, not separation and chaos.

  It seems very likely that if we actually had a true sense of “God” (the foundational Source of all existence), we wouldn't have anything to say about It, as our mind would be utterly silenced by a crushing humility. If we were lucky it would never speak again, unless when actually helpful like when doing our taxes.

  My sense is that there is no Way to get to truth/God; as it's simply not so diminutive or limited as to be absent. Rather it's about recognizing and stepping out of what is unreal, and focusing attention on the one and only undeniable truth that we all share: the pure, silent, aware-aliveness which is closer and more intimate than the mind. That, which quietly and subtly observes the matrix of the mind, senses, feelings and all other phenomena.  Be still, and know...

  Is taking the red pill about changing over to different or more “profoundly spiritual” concepts, ideas and beliefs? Wouldn't that be more of a blue-pill/matrix exchange? Perhaps, it's far more radical than that. A shift from all which was “real and knowable” before. More about sacrificing everything ever thought or believed to be true about self, and other. But only – everything. I don't image that is very alluring to a prophet who feels he is very near to intellectually figuring out the mind of God. More tempting perhaps for a complete and utter fool who only knows that he knows nothing, and that anything really worth saying on the subject – can't be spoken. So ignore all this.

  Please know that I mean no disrespect for what you cherish and hold dear, nor feel anything other than warmth for you. I just don't know how else to put it.

  How to Hear God's Voice Easily and Effectively: A Book Review

  i think perhaps this book doesn't really examine the issue in depth.

  for instance, my niece suggests that the first necessary step to hearing god's voice is to skip your meds.. i'm sure we could all come up with better ways than the namby-pamby stuff recommended in this book that would enable anyone to hear god's voice.. a very tight necktie, for instance.. playing modern christian music backwards, while drinking mogen david.. instead of skipping your meds, in some cases it works better to double your meds.. wear a tin-foil pyramid hat.
