  No Spiritual Heritage

  for the born/raised ins, do you feel that you no longer have a spiritual heritage/background/traditions?

  i was sitting at my desk absentmindedly humming a "kingdom melody" from the brown songbook, when i realized what i was doing and made myself stop.

  there were songs that i really enjoyed.

  last week i wrote to my parents telling them that i no longer believe in their god.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/198664/1/a-letter-to-my-parents-stating-i-dont-believe-in-the-org-anymore.

  my dad finally responded and in one of his sentences he said that the jehovahs witnesses are the only true religion and that i should go back.. so i was thinking with a sincere heart.. if they are the true religion then then can present evidence of it.

  so that is my new challenge for him.

  Now, the jugular: If Jehovah, at Armageddon ask you to take up a sword along side his angels and commanded you to kill your next door neighbor and his wife and children, would you do it? Would you?

  And could you then live in total peace forever knowing what you did?

  Fuck, Bible questions, go for the heart. Go for the humanitarian and love within us all.

  How about common sense questions?

  Can you think of a evil more vile than the mass murder of billions of men, women and children? Can you? Can you?

  Why would a sensible person place as the "most high and loving" a deity that does just this?

  Does this not amount to worshiping "evil" as your god? Who, in their right mind would do this? Who?

  What, no knock on every web JW spiders???

  Actually, I love spiders. Some care for their young and carry them around and even sacrifice eating so the babies may survive. This was once thought to be a mammalian only behavior.

  I suggest to those who may fear spiders -- as I once did -- to research them and begin to closely observe their behavior. These little fellows run in the opposite direction faster than you do. They are very shy and timid.... and very intelligent.

  May I suggest that you start a new "spiritual heritage", one worthy of the title.

  Make a heritage of being present with life and being, now in this moment.

  Be still and savor the beauty of what it is to be alive. Perhaps you could name it something like....ummmm...Serenity Now.

  pick up a watchtower publication and thumb through it.

  in the article a scientist frantisek vyskocil being interview by awake on how he came to his belief in god and became a jw.

  I find it amazing that anyone in 2010 still believes that the earth was made in 6,000 years! They must have their head in a location void of anything remotely breathable. And a collage professor who believes this, most certainly has to go to a Proctologist to have their head examined.

  Good question. If we look we find dualities within ourselves.We love and we hate, etc, etc. So it is not a huge leap to see that the Bible is not from "God", but simply reflects man's own musings and imagination, in that it reflects the same chaotic mind. Does this make sense? In other words, the Bible is but a mirror image of mortal man. Not Divine, Not special. Just human created stories with a human created god.

  So, if the Bible holds no truth, then what does? That, this thread was not meant to address....but others may.
