i'm a little frightened after reading one of the study articles in the feb.1st watchtower.. what well meaning individuals will be fighting to study with me when they read the second study article?who will help such a weak one as me build up faith and appreciation?oh yeah,and can they count their time?after all,i am baptised.. maybe i will start knocking on jw's doors and say,"hi,i realise that you are an active member of the jw organisation,but i am here to welcome you into the inactive flock.i am willing to study with you,so you can appreciate how you have been mislead for so many years.

seriously though,i will have to start screening my calls and not answering my door(better yet,i will just let my dogs out).after 4 years of people not caring,now that they are told to,they will come in droves!
LMAO Bittersweet... I just recently moved, all they have is a phone #.
In reality though, they are trying to get regular pioneers and auxilary pioneers another way to get their hours in each month by talking to a "friend" who is inactive.
To me it sounds like the ship has sprung a leak and they are bailing fast and hard.

Ok, I was going to go to bed but I will be honest.... I cant sleep. I dont remember the last time that I was this excited over something I found on the internet. Come to think of it.... its been quite a while since I have been this excited so no sleep for me.
Blondie : I did no lurking at all. I found the site at about 1:30 A.M. this morning. Checked it out (read some posts) to see what this was about. If it had been just a flame forum agains the dubs I probably would not have joined. But everyone here seems to be bery sincere about their experiances and well.... its not a flame forum. As to what made me decide to post was the fact that I have been starving for conversation and friends who are in the same situation as I am. I am by no means a shy person so I just jumped in feet first.
As to the new program (which I know nothing of so if you have some info, please share), I'm not worried. If anyone wants to track me down, they are more than welcome to do so. They will not be very pleased with the reception they get though. As to what made me stop going??? I will be adding another post here within a few hours with details. I have never put what all I have gone through down on paper so I have to decide what to write on first.

how do you feel about telling people you were a jw, does it make you feel like admiting you were a flasher or some strange perv?.
i told a lady the other day who asked about what i was doing for christmas, that i used to be a jw, but i had to make sure she knew i was brought up as one by my parents , just so she didn't think it was my choice.. she thought i was very brave for leaving though.
I have to agree with Rebel. The only difference was that was brought into the religion by my mom when I was 7 years old. Before that I had been Catholic as well. Although I am not ashamed to say that I was a JW, I certainly dont bring it up as part of everyday conversation. If someone asks what religion I am, I am simply not part of any religion. On the other hand, if I am trying to help someone cope with a difficult situation and they can benefit from what I have gone through with the witnesses then I am happy to bring it to their attention. I dont regret the time that I spent as one though I wish I had come to my senses sooner.
i may sound like a bit of a scrooge here but i really didn't get into x-mas.i honestlly didn't enjoy it.or better yet not enjoy it but i don't get why everyone is so excited over it.don't get me wrong it was cool as hell to see my lil step daughter get all excited over her tons of presents.but i just dont get it.
you spend many hours and stressful days spending alot of money and you spend all this time setting everything up all for about an hours worth of actual celebrating it.the time ratio makes no sense to me.
it is cool however to spend a lil extra time with the family.
This was the first christmas since I quit going to meetings that I have celebrated. It was marred by the fact that I did not have the monitary means to buyt things for my friends but I was very pleased with how I was recieved by them all. As a matter of fact, my best friend (non dub) asked me to come over and have christmas dinner with them.
I actually enjoyed myself this year!

ok, now that i have your attention let me tell you my situation.
for the past three days i have noticed blood coming out of my rectum.
I would definately go see a doc, my mom had the same thing happen to her and it turns out that she has colon cancer. She goes in for chemo starting Jan 6. It sucks but when you go ask for a colonoscopy. May be uncomfortable but better safe than sorry.

I am not df'ed nor have I been reproved as of yet but none of the people who I once considered my friends will have anything to do with me. I was a JW for 15 years, baptized when I was 11. Anyhow...
