i have been home schooled from the start until i was 14. I remember This was one of the things That made me slightly inadequate when returning to the "real" school world, things were way different than in my cosy house, and for sure it Is the reason i got baptised at 16. Because i did not have enough view of how it Was outside the jw world, then i thought the best place to be was among jw...

Today's WT study! So hypocritical!
by stuckinarut2 inso today's study is all about being kindly, and not judgemental to those in the congregation....we don't know their circumstances etc.... i can't believe the hypocrisy being spewed out...both in the article and by means of the answers from the audience!.
we know the reality is so different!
unless a witness does everything exactly as the gb directs...in every aspects of life, they are effectively no longer a good person, but are viewed as spiritually lacking or weak..... they are going directly beyond the biblical directives, and being ones who condemn, rather than ones who commend!.

always a matter of double standards:
one of my mother in law comments to This study was based on the James letter stating That we do not have to judge.agreed by everyone by force noding heads.
later after the meeting she discussed the case of a jw family they know, who is sending their 19year old daughter in another part of the country to go to high School (and live with DA relatives incidentally...): "This Is a mistake, they should not have done That, blah blah blah".
still not judging hey?

Why don't Jehovah's Witnesses introduce themselves when knocking on doors?
by Randomthoughts inmost random people who knock on the door politely introduce themselves when you open the door.. for example "hello, i'm derick from unicef and i'm looking for donations blah blah blah".
now annoying as it may be for some at least he had the courtesy to introduce himself.. why don't jw's do this?
is it because they are embarressed or perhaps they know you won't take their literature if they do?.

hi.
Never tell That we are jw or the householder Will tell us to go to hell;)
as a still "active" jw for family sake, when i go to FS (not more than 3 hours per month...) i quickly say That we are jw so That every time the householder Will say he is not interrested...less time lost;)
but personnally i NEVER give my name, because i do not want to be exposed as a jw anywhere later(say...at work or else) while i do not believe those BS. I notice That people do not recognize me later in another context (gas station, bookshop, etc) than the formal door to door.

I now have a law degree!
by digderidoo inhi guys, i don't really post on here much anymore, having been on here since 2001. this site helped me out in the early days and has been a great support system for all of my past jw issues.
like many others i was discouraged from an education so that i could window clean and pioneer in my youth during the 80's.
having spent many years post my jw exit in alcoholism and periods of drugs, i decided to clean myself up 7 years ago by attending aa, i was still a window cleaner ... at the time i wrote extensively on here about my issues.

according to jw littérature world war 1 was the beggining of the kingdom in 1914. But This war started in august. So what is the rationalisation for saying That the kingdom was specifically to Begin in october 1914? Not august, not september but october?
i don't remember This one...or was it ever teached?

Not on jw.org - comments regarding bad Jehovah's Witness employees
by jwfacts ini used to be very impressed with convention experiences regarding how worldly employers would hire jws because they were known as the most honest workers.
i was too indoctrinated to realise these were selective experiences, and there are plenty of experiences of jws being dishonest in the workforce.
i have received a couple recently by email.. i have cut quite a bit out of the following email i received so that the person and company cannot be indentified, but you will get the message.. .

If the Governing Body Told You They Love You All Very Much, What Would Your Reply Be?
by steve2 inin a letter in the 2013 yearbook of jehovah's witnesses, the governing body sign off with the words, "we love you all very much".
these words were later echoed by one of the governing body in an address to french jehovah's witnesses in july this year.
these words sound so marvellously compelling and heartfelt - goosebump inducing, even.. imagine the governing body wrote these words to you or expressed them to you in person- yes to you reading these very words.

Welcoming International Delegates for London 2014 IC
by Da.Furious ini had the pleasure of joining jw's on the weekend to greet the international delegates who are attending the london 2014 international convention at twickenham.. nothing interesting, just waiting for someone with a badge to come through the doors and all will cheer!
the interesting part is how they are behaving:.
1- the overseer: looked really bored, trying to impress surroundings by talking loud and how he can talk to immigration and check on passengers.

Well done Da furious. I like your observations on the different categories of people from the welcoming party...
you must Be an "exemplary witness" to be authorized by your congregation to participate in This welcoming party...funny they did not notice you were "5th column";) (Just rewiewed a few days ago the "V" series so This mention by Konceptual is thrilling...a little!

"We Love You All Very Much"
by Apognophos ini'm not sure if this has been discussed before.
you guys might recall that when the 2013 yearbook came out, the letter from the governing body ended a bit unusually:.
we love you all very much.

This Is all about their celeb status.rank and file are supposed to feel blessed when such a high placed man say That they, représentatives of god, love us, humble servants...makes me think about french médiéval time, when the lord of a territory gave his servants his blessing.
as i told my wife: I do not know those guys, they live thousands of miles away from me, so why should i care if they love me or not? Reminds me of the Pope....but oh wait! JW are better because they are the unique true religion...
