I was told that I shouldn't use those stamps because they had flags on them. They said, and I'm not kidding, that the brothers at bethel didn't like them.

I was the mag subscription guy at the time and I had to fill out those mag subscriptions and put them in the yellow envelope to send to the society.

I asked, 'well, you use money don't you?" and I was told that that was different because with money you don't have a choice buy when it came to stamps you did.

If not, my favorite in order would be a game called YARS REVENGE on Atari and, of course, Centipede.

i was wondering if you have a response when you present stuff about pedo, un, rutherford, etc, and a jw says, "well they are imperfect people.. the last respons i got was, only jesus was ever the perfect channel of god - which of course i agree.. but it's like if you ever bring up anything about anything, the stock response is, "we'll it's an imperfect organization.... your response???.

Sorry. I didn't know you were not a JW. I have no problem with you then.

My only thought to you now is the following...

None of my family are JW. I studied it on my own.

If you are not a Baptized witness you would not know this, but when you first study or peer from the outside, everything is seen through rose colored glasses.

The people are incredibly nice and if you're not baptized, you are by no means under the yoke of the elders.

If anything, I am BIASED towards JW. I want them so much to be the truth.

But the litmus test is "by the fruits you will recognize them." Unfortunately for me, I've seen some of the fruits that were more hurtful than you would want to know.

I'm here with the "apostates" because doing my own research, I discovered that some of these people are not the vile people I always taught they were.

You said in your first post to "get a life," that we have nothing better to do than to slam JW. This is my life. Serving God is my life. So believe me, I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure of all things. Even if i means I have to "go over to the other side."

You self righteous ____. I am a JW too and was a regular pioneer for 9 years.

I am not DF or DA. And regardless of what the standing on the others here, the vast majority of them love and serve Jehovah. It's the Organization they have a problem with. And most of them, a problem with people like you who have caused so much hurt.

I was once like you too. The Org drills it into your head that we are better than everyone. WE ARE NOT, and I can say that since I am your Brother in the Truth.

i am a witness that is no longer going to meetings.. but i tell you what, i'm scared to death.. i'm really "limping on two decisions.".

what would you guys say is the one "scriptural" reason why you left the truth.. thanks.. gene.

Thank you so much for all your help and anyone who wants to ad their thoughs to this.

I'm devistated about the things I'm learning on this forum and sites like Randy's Freeminds.org

I was a regular pioneer for 9 years and was a model JW.

I got into trouble and felt like I was thrown away.

I felt like a 2 ton bull that was pulling everyone else along spiritually, but the day the bull got sick, no one cared for the bull anymore.

To put it mildly, I was HEAVILY mistreated by the brothers, especially some of the elders.

But as I examine these things, it's almost UNTHINKABLE, that I could actually have been mislead this bad.

I'm still struggling, but at least now I know I'm not NUTS.

But the elder I'm in comunicata with says, "The truth is in the pattern of truth spoken through the years."

Basically, I showed him the stuff about being the false prophet and his response (parapharsed) is...

"Well, if you're going to go by that, then there is no way to defend ourselves.

But the truth is the society has told us the truth about the condition of the dead, the truth about Hell, about living in paradise...

My thing is, yes, I mean the society has taught a lot of truth and I do still adhere to many of this.

I am REALLY confused and scared. I about chewed out an elder the other day because of something stupid on his part, but the bottom line is I WANT to serve Jehovah.

Please explain 537 in layman's terms...

hey guys,.

i'm doing research on 607 and i understand how historical chronology differs and how the wt really missed it by 20 years.. but it seems the anchor year has something to do with 537 and 70 years of desolation.

counting back, 70 years would be 607.. so i've been told that that is how the "bible's chronology" verifies 607.. does anyone explain what this is all about?.
