So basically what u'r saying is that....You want to prove that the bible is wrong yet you can't prove it yourself...so how do you know it's wrong.

Why is the Bible wrong?
by StinkyPantz inthis primarily goes out to other agnostics and athiests.
this week i got into two interesting conversations that i will admit that i was ill prepared for.
one was with a jw friend of mine who wanted to know why i thought jw's were wrong.

It surely is sad to see such intelligence die in the name of science. I've always viewed astronauts as non-arrogant and down to earth people. which makes it even more tragic to me.
It takes a lot of guts to sit in the space shuttle for lift-off and re-entry.

Well,
First, I am from the US, and as you can see I don't support them.
Second, the US doesn't give money to help...they buy (with strings attached).
Right now, the whole world (practically) is against us for our motives to do war...oil...
and pretty soon, as a result of not minding our own business and trying to buy with the prospect of control, the ones we pissed off (cause we had no business there) will actually bring the war on this continent.
And quite frankly, I'm afraid of the prospects of that. The ennemy is right here, right now, and are waiting for the first bombs to go off in Iraq just so they can claim self defense.
They are not stupid, I don't support either side, but it's not gonna be pretty.
Why do you think that Saddam is ready all of a sudden to let the inspectors in? His arsenal is not there anymore. His son said that 9-11 will look like a picnic, why? Cause the arsenal is right here in the US. And I have a hard time to believe that our supposedly intelligent leaders have not figured that one out.
Man, it's gonna hurt

The bible tells us we are all sinners and have a need to repent, or at least be concious of our mistakes, try to better our existence with respect to ourselves and others in harmony with universal laws.
I think the essence of the JW was at one time correct in accordance to Jesus' message of the kingdom. The doctrinal errors could have been altered as the light got brighter (as they say), but lack of humility in recognizing and admitting their own mistakes and to repair them in a spirit of repentance has corrupted what was once a denomination seeking truth. Cause I believe at one time, truth was attainable.
Today, it is irreparable and has left a sentiment of hate and despair for many. But I believe Jehovah is the god of gods and will prevail. It is not he who is wrong and failed us, blame the power hungry apostates who have taken over and corrupted his word and spirit. Yes they are only men, like you and I.
Remember that when you chose to judge.

yeah yeah yeah, haven't you figured out that all that talk in the state of the union adress is only that "talk", especially the AIDS propaganda. Show me the money!
Mandela was right on the money, and besides, the US was really the first nation to use WMD cause they were the only ones to have them. Now that others have them, they're trying to stop them from playing with their toys. Total hypocrits.

Jehovah Witnesses watching TV tonight
by JH inthe active jw's watching tv tonight will be surprised when they see themselves in the spotlight.
how do you think the average jw will react when watching the program?
will they think that it's all lies, or do you think they will believe a good part of it?

I'm sure it's good, man who would have thought?
I asked my neighbour if I could watch it and she said she didn't care about the witnesses. I said it's not for the witnesses but against.....thinking she might want to watch it then...she didn't budge....I guess some really don't care..lol.
I'll just have to read up on it.

Trick to increase Bible Study totals?
by jws inforgive me if this has been covered before and please redirect me to the topic.... i was looking over the km scan for january 2003 at http://jsefton.users1.50megs.com/kmscans.htm and noticed this on page 4:an approach that has proved to be effective with busy people is to conduct a brief bible study right on their doorstep.
when you are preparing to make a return visit, select from the january 2002 our kingdom ministry insert a presentation that fits the householder.
many of the presentations in this insert are designed to lead directly into a discussion of the require brochure or the knowledge book.

Wow,
----"They may all be 5 minutes long, but you can conduct 1/2 dozen of them in a couple of hours. What a blessing! "
I remember the days when you had to pray to get one of these, and only if god thought your service deserved it.
And now....there is no reason that the doors to paradise wouldn't be opened to all. It only takes five minutes, and eithout their knowledge they will be saved.
The light is definitely getting brighter

I used to despise the pionneers because of their gloating over those special doggy bones. I mean, who the hell were they, or better, who the hell was this organisation to deny me spiritual food because I was not the phony, goody two shoes, pretentious little assh*le of a pioneer.
I had a job, a familly to support, and all these lazy bums, who sat in cars all day (or at McDonald's)pretending to be busy in the work of the lord, got the special treatment and better food. And plus they dared look down upon you, pretending they were "Oh so much more spiritual", almost telling you in your face that they had a much better seat in the bus to salvation.
Man do I hate that Pharisee class.

#1 - - you cannot carbon date stone
article: http://www.icej.org/news/specials/special10.html
The GSI tests involved examining the patina covering the tablet, a thin organic build-up that can be scientifically dated with relative accuracy. GSI geologists insist the patina is uniform across the entire tablet, including all the engraved lettering, and dates back to the First Temple era.
Since the tablet was not found during an organized archaeological excavation, carbon dating of the patina by geologists is the most reliable method for establishing its age and authenticity. Critics are contending other geologists should be given a chance to examine the tablet.
