Never voted, never will and proud of it. Sorry to disagree. However I do see my non-vote as a vote in itself. Give me someone worth voting for and I might change my mind, but as long as they keep presenting me with hypocrites in a suit and tie I will refrain from participating.

Does anyone else not really care about Katrina?
by sonnyboy inok, some people may call me a heartless bastard for making this thread, but i have to be honest.. i really don't care about the hurricane victims.
i highly doubt that the people walking through walmart with shopping carts full of clothing and electronics would send me one f'ing red cent if i was in need (and i am in need, by the way).. i just can't find it in my heart to care at all.
maybe i'm the only one who thinks like this, but i've been struggling to survive for the past 2 years and no one has ever lifted a finger to help me.

I just can't find it in my heart to care at all.
It is true that people looting New Orleans wouldn't give you anything, just as much as you can't give them something right now. Where you need to care is to realize you'd be in the same situation if it happened in your area. You'd be in more shit than you are now. You're poor, so am I, but I do feel for those people. There is a lot of stigma attached to poverty. It must be quite the trip to see millions of dollars being donated, yet no one in New Orleans gets a penny. Why is it that no one is walking around handing out 100 dollar bills to these people so they can start somewhat over. No, no, no....this money must be channeled through the same people who think you're a total loser because you are poor, so of course you'll never see the color of that money. I'm sure the meals that are being donated have a cost of about 30 dollars each....Give me the money, I'll find a cheaper way to eat and I'll have some left over. The bureaucrats don't help people...they help themselves. There's big money in disaster relief, and that's where I stop caring.
Take care, and have a little sympathy for those in the same position as yours.

A Link for the Liberal Loudmouths
by Shining One inhttp://news.yahoo.com/s/csm/20050902/cm_csm/ekatrina .
read it and see that the pres actually was on the ball and had the machinery turned on and ready to operate.
if a dummy like clinton (gore or kerry as well) had been in charge, who knows what would have happened!
-

You say you're sick of the blame game..yet in the same paragraph you call Clinton a dummy...do you realize how little sense you make.
You say everything is political like if it's a bad thing, yet that's exactly what democracy is all about.
As far as Bush having a backbone, I think the numbers are pretty obvious that many who were expressing comments such as yours a few years back have come to their senses and retracted.
If Bush (or any politician) had a backbone he would not have flown over New Orleans, he would've waded in it's waters, and brought relief himself.
You believe in a fool. -

Let the looters loot....
Anyone wasting time tracking down looters at this point should be shot themselves. Getting people out of there should be first priority.

I think your outrage should be at how slow your governments and NGOs are moving on this, and it's not for lack of funds either.

Robertson is Unchristian but is he Unpatriotic?
by Oroborus21 inrobertson's call for assassination of the venezuelan president shows once again how corrupt christendom's leaders are.. but what is really interesting is the double standard in place.
if the latest "abu wasabi" were to say on a videotape that george bush should be assassinated, you can bet the secret service would go after the person.
in the right situation there could even be more severe consequences like soldiers sent to capture the person or even a cruise missile or precision bomb dropped on the location.. so why doesn' t the venezuelan government feel justified in doing any of those actions?.

What Robertson said shows the fanatism of the christian community. These people believe they will win back and save the US for God. Actually I just found out from a Christian that voting for Bush was voting for God and voting for Kerry was voting for Satan in the last elections. I asked him if this was his personal view or if his church as a whole saw it that way. He said they all voted for Bush and it was promoted as such in their church....
I actually had to fight with myself as to not say anything further....at first I argued but soon noticed he was almost foaming at the mouth talking about Iraq and Saddam...yup Saddam.......and LOL. He wanted to go to Iraq to fight......
These Christians are scary.

Europe - Do Their Leaders Have the Guts?
by roybatty inregarding iran's nuke program, the evil george bush stood on the sideline and let the europeans do it their way via diplomacy through the u.n. well, iran has basically told them to screw off and has now re-started it's nuke program and seems to have no intention to stop their development of nukes.
this u.n. delegation has now given iran the "eleventh hour warning" which they will laugh at.
soon it will be brought before the u.n. security counsel and a recommendation to impose sanctions against iran will be made and voted upon.

So you're saying that diplomacy won't work with Iran? What other option are you proposing?
Invade the bastards
he's saying "you don't like the way I do things, fine, let's do it your way."
C'mon...lol...You make it sound like Bush is such a diplomat.
Say what you want about the war in Iraq. I can promise you one thing, Iraq won't be building nukes any time soon.
In the shape they're in I guess not...
Democracy / freedom means to give everyone a chance to have what the next guy has.
You have a house, so can I,
You own an SUV, so can I,
You have nukes, so can I,
I don't see a problem with that. Where I see a problem is for people saying nukes are bad yet holding on to their stash. If they're bad, get rid of them. If you keep yours, let others have some too.

In other words, do they have the guts to get into the same kind of mess the US is in?BTW, why would the US stand on the sidelines in regards to Iran? Aren't they supposed to be the world's police force? The enforcer of democracy and freedom, fighting evil dictators. Why pass the buck?
The US just wants Europe to be stuck in a quagmire just to justify theirs. Why wait after Europe to settle this matter? Isn't it a matter of US national security to insure that Iran has no nukes? Kind of risky to leave such important issues in the hands of incompetents don't you find?
I agree, Europe is weak, and George pretends he's letting them have a go at their way (diplomacy), he knows it won't work (wouldn't work for him either). He's just looking for someone to blame cause he can't take care of matters himself, he doesn't have the manpower to do the job, so he's passing the buck, plain and simple.

Your thoughts about Wal-mart
by desbah in.
do you shop at wally world?
i can spend over $100.00 on little items, man shopping at wally world is the devil on my checkbook.
-
foreword
did you see the CBC documentary on the union vote out west
No I didn't see it, but I can just imagine. I did see an interview with one of WalMart's top officer...talk about wolves in sheep's clothing. Talking about how they give back to the communities, blah, blah, blah...
I could never take working for one of these outfits...probably one of the most depressing thing one could go through. "Lowest wages always", not mentioning the stupid looking little outfits they make you wear to work... everything to break your spirit and make you feel like a worthless slave. I feel for those who because of circumstances are forced to work for them.
I'm always amazed at how many people continue to shop there although it is pretty obvious the damage these stores are doing to local economies, not mentioning replacing decent paying jobs at local stores with low wage ones (most part time so they avoid paying decent benefits).
If these people had their wishes, we'd all live in box houses with no windows.
