There are people who have had bad experiences and don't look back. But many people on this forum remember it and post about it almost, if not, everyday. Personally, i've had my share of bad moments. But i don't look back and get a kick out of it. I don't know how that is possible. Why do you think this happens?

Are ex-jw's or "apostates" addicted to jw-bashing?
by booker-t inthis might seem like a funny question to ask but my mom told me that "apostates" are addicted to jw-bashing and cannot let it go and have a life.
i asked her what she meant by this statement and she told me that all ex-jw's talk about is the wts and jw's and negative things about the jw's.
she said that we get up thinking about jw-bashing and go to sleep thinking about jw-bashing just like a drug addict.

Hiding one's religion feels horrible
The letter published on Saturday, Dec. 25, titled "A celebration, an embarrassment" really touched me. The teacher-writer's willingness to learn from her students as well as her ability to apologize for her former insensitivity are outstanding and unique qualities, ones to be treasured in any teacher.
I, too, was raised as a Jehovah's Witness, and still am one. But as a child, I can remember wanting to be anything else because I was embarrassed to be different from my peers. This was many years ago, when there was little diversity in beliefs, especially where I lived, and even less tolerance. More than any other holiday, Christmas seemed to devour the entire month of December in all classrooms. And never did a teacher ask me why I didn't celebrate the holiday, or try to make me feel appreciated just for being myself.
Often I was accused of not being Christian and not believing in Jesus Christ, both of which were totally untrue. Jehovah's Witnesses simply do not combine their worship with traditions that are pagan and teachings that do not agree with the Bible. However, it seemed that everyone at school just looked at me as weird, so I tried to hide my religion and blend in.
Thankfully, by the time I was 15, I realized that everyone was different and began being proud of myself, who I was and what I believed. I hope that the young man who wrote the essay mentioned by the teacher found the courage to decide for himself what he believed, instead of allowing the fear of being embarrassed to rule his life.
Thank God there are teachers like the letter writer, and thank you for printing a letter that may foster tolerance and diversity in the educational process.

First of all, the guy is not a real Witness. He is just fooling himself. You have a lot to learn. I know you mean well trying to 'help' him, but the truth is no one can change another person.. Nobody. His future doesn't look bright and he's dragging you with him.

"When I'm 18, I'm going to quit Jehovah's Witnesses because they won't let me do Christmas things at school
This girl will suffer in life. Instead of being strong, she will be weak trying to please people.

1,200,000 Publishers left between 1993-2002
by Bluegrass Tom ini have been bothered for some time by the sneaking suspicion that the publisher increases published annually are never realized in a tangible way.
therefore, i sat down and studied a 10 year period of what has been published by the society to see if i could get a warm and fuzzy feeling about these increases.
after hours i have realized the following:

Joker10
You are not doing the math right. To say that "only 19 countries" make up most of the publishers and activity is correct, but what you fail to mention is that the top 19 countries of the world also make up most of population of the planet-- China, India, USA, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Russia, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, Germany, Vietnam, Egypt, Iran, Turkey, Ethiopia, and Thailand.
Also the missing number of publishers should also be lower since they have a higher death rate because they don't count children..
Many other religions have a much worse retention rate like the Southern Baptists and the LDS.
Inactive JWs are not counted. They attend the Memorial showing they are not totally out. However other churches count their members if they only show up once for service during the year.

Ohio community mourns slain pregnant woman
Jon Andrews, left, walks beside a man holding Andrews' son, Oscar, Sunday, at a memorial service for Andrews' wife Theresa October 9, 2000
Web posted at: 8:19 a.m. EDT (1219 GMT)KENT, Ohio (AP) -- More than 1,000 people filled a high school auditorium in Kent, Ohio, and dozens of others waited outside in the rain at a service to remember a pregnant woman whose killer cut her baby from her womb.
Theresa Andrews, 23, was abducted September 27 and shot to death by a woman she and her husband had met a few weeks earlier while shopping for baby clothes at Wal-Mart.
"In a sinful world where people have a choice to follow their own sinful and sometimes sickening ways, tragedy will sometimes result," Dave Iannelli, a Jehovah's Witnesses religious leader from New York, told mourners at Sunday's memorial service. "Jehovah is not to blame when bad things happen to good people."
Police say Michelle Bica, 39, had lied to neighbors, relatives and even her own husband for months, telling them she was pregnant. With her fake due date quickly approaching, she lured Andrews to her house and killed her with a single shot to the back, then performed a crude Caesarean section to deliver the baby, police said.
Bica passed the baby off as her own until five days later, when she committed suicide in a locked bedroom as police arrived to question her about calls made to the Andrews' house.
Jon and Theresa Andrews The infant, named Oscar, survived and was given to his father late last week.
The Roosevelt High School auditorium was filled Sunday with flowers and photos of a smiling Theresa Andrews, who will be cremated. Those who couldn't find seats inside, waited in the lobby or outside.
Kristina Sparks, 21, drove with her family from Elyria, about 45 miles away, to attend the service for Andrews, whom she met through a Jehovah's Witnesses group about three years ago.
"She just seemed like such a nice person even if you didn't know her that well," Sparks said.

It really is a matter of opinion to believe how 'sad it is what the Watchtower is doing to the people'.
Who would you rather follow? A church founded by Christ, the divine son of God, or a sect started by Charles Taze Russell?
The Catholic Church is also an organized religion.
Being a Christian, which JW's falsely claim to be...
They ARE Christian. A lot of people on this board also agree. There has been discussion obout this.
They don't - they are a mind controlling, brain-washing sect
How can you say that after what your church has done to humankind. Personally speaking.
