many posters know that former governing body member leo greenlees was ousted from the gb in 1984 for molesting a little boy.
i hear tell that he was in california after that, and died some years later after spending time in a new orleans, louisiana congregation.. if anyone can shed light on exactly where greenlees was from 1984 until his death, i'd appreciate it.
this is very important.. alanf
freeminds.org has something of him, but doesnt' say anything about a molestation.
....i mean is it really healthy to be posting on this forum if you still hold pro-jw views?
is it really healthy to keep posting even though you may be anti-jw?
..... when does the crunch come to think enough is enough, i need to get a grip and move on with my life as a jw or exjw?
NO
well, the best thing about being a fader is that you can still talk to dubs you meet.
they think they can us the contact to upbuild you and you use it to plant the seeds of 'truth' which is what i did in this situation.. last week when i was at the markets i saw a sister shopping and although i normally avoid dubs, i didn't this time.
i said hello and she was very happy to speak to me.
My parents never reacted that way when I told them about the issue.
my mother attended the special one day assembly program saturday, and told me that there were 5 people getting baptized.
now i would think that at least 10 times that amount have either left the org.
during that time, or been disfellowshipped from the congregations in the circuit.
There was a 2%increase of publishers in the U.S. this year.
i have been waiting to see what the wts has to say about this little nun.

Yes, good work indeed.
For all those interred n Mother T's dark side:

something happened the other night that got me thinking.
i met a christian in one of the local malls and he did the usual preaching about jesus routine, trying to convince me that i am a sinner and how i need jesus and all that jazz.
he wasn't a jw, but rather he was from one of the local revivalist churches.. now what i'm thinking is that i've been out of the org for almost three years now.
I've seen them everywhere.

Remember that Mother Teresa had a Dark side. (Assuming anyone read the newspaper.)
it is no secret that many people feel that human evolution has been stopped in it's tracks by our civilization.
however, i and others, argue that natural selection is still ongoing and has social implications.
the article i copied below relates how natural selection of humans is taking palce right now in taiwan.
It is true that the mean household income for American Witnesses?about $27,500 based on ANSRI data?is slightly below the national mean ($29,943 in 1990, the year for which the ANSRI data apply). However, this income figure seems remarkably high, when we take several factors into account. First, the Witnesses are far less likely to be employed full-time?47% in the ANSRI data, compared with 63% of the general population. Some Witnesses (especially pioneers) choose to support themselves by working only part-time in order to devote more time to church work. Moreover, half of all female respondents in the ANSRI data reported themselves as full-time housewives. Given that many of the other Witness females are single, widowed or divorced, relatively few Witness families have two earners. In addition, as will be seen, white non- Hispanics make up less than half of American Witnesses and still the average Witness household income is close to the national average. Indeed, Witnesses are precisely as likely as the general population to own their own home (63% in the GSS data). Despite having few college graduates among them and despite giving their primary attention to religious work, the Witnesses seem remarkably well-off economically.
what is the current thinking of the watchtower society concernng higher education these days?
in 1977 i entered college from a full pioneer status and was duly criticized from the local elders.
back at that time, higher education was actively discouraged.
Just SOME of the statistics, and this one regarding education:
This conclusion must be qualified by the fact that, at least in Canada and the United States, Witnesses are substantially less likely to attend college. The Canadian Census reported that only 3% of Witnesses had college degrees, compared with 17% of the general population (the figures for both groups are based on the population 25?44). The American National Survey of Religious Identification (ANSRI) reported that, of Witnesses age 25 and older, 4% of whites and 8% of blacks were college graduates, or just over 5% overall. The combined SS data reveal that 5% of Witnesses had attended college.
