  I don't know the number of partakers for the U.S. I was present at the San Diego International Assembly this past weekend and they mentioned 2,469,633 people attended the Memorial in the U.S. That is 50,000 more people, or 2.1% increase over last year and a new peak.

  a more detailed look at the just released american religious identification survey (aris) shows witnesses have increased from 1,331,000 in 1991 to 1,914,000in 2008. that is 583,000 more people, or a whopping 43.8 percent growth.

  they now make up 0.8 percent of the u.s. population.. who says jws are in the decline?.

  And weren't you the one criticizing the Pew poll, the one about how 63% of people raised as JWs eventually leave the organization, for having a "too small" polling sample?

  Yes. I believe this latest survey is more accurate the Pew. Pew's study couldn't find any Witnesses residing in several states.

  The increase from 2001 to 2008 is 30.4%, or 4.3% per year. That is higher than the 2.5% cited by Farkel , and quite a bit less than the 43.8% cited by Joker10 .

  Leolaia, how do you figure? 583,000 people on top of the 1,381,000 is 44%.

  Not all editions of the Kingdom Ministry leaves out the monthly service report. The Brazil KM has a more detailed report by displaying the actual total of magazines given and hours spent, etc. instead of the average number per publisher.

  so, 72 kids of which 37% will be jws.

  Don't believe too much on it. The survey is based on less than 250 people who claimed to be Witnesses. That is about 5 per state. The 'study' shows there are no Asians in the JW community.

  i was told this morning by my parents that the circuit overseer told everyone in the congregation that certain rumor, the change in hour requirements for pioneers is not being lowered.

  he mentioned he got this information from the governing body.

  he advised everyone to stop believing in rumors!
