only part of meeting you enjoyed
by martinwellborne infor me it was bible reading, where you could express your own opinion, in line with present truth of course.. pre the change it was awful listening to some fool telling you his opinion of bible highlights.

Finally Free - He counselled other elders about the same thing. I told him to buy mints & pass them out or put Vicks under his nose.
I enjoyed and still enjoy public speaking. But the best part was usually any socializing afterwards. The traditional trips to the "Muddy Duck" were always fun.

Business v. friendship
by sweetface2233 ini have touched on this subject in public a few times and have discussed in detail w/ a few posters exactly what happened between my former best friend and i. to make a long story short, he borrowed money from me (several thousand $) and, in my opinion, carelessly went on a spending spree w/in the next several months.
i confronted him about it, and essentially was given the boot due to it.
at first, i was practically devestated (just like any break-up from a ltr), but now i am over it and have been able to give more focus to my other friends, as well as make new ones.. he and i had minimal contact since the beginning of august to the beginning of january.

ME? I'd maintain things status quo until the loan is completely paid off. Friendship offers can be reasonably considered at that time. His treatment and general callousness towards you gives you every right to be protective and cautious.
He should be just as interested in restoring the friendship at that point if he is sincere about missing you etc. Never forget the reasons why any relationship cool off. Unless there is clear evidence of changed behaviours is it really reasonable to think that someone has changed?
You don't have to be such a sweet face all the time! MUAH

Ways to get in trouble at the hall without actually getting in trouble...
by cognac in1. told the entire cong.
that jesus coming in his kingdom was in about 31 or 32 ce when jesus got transfigured.
- this was during the weekly bible reading part... lol (the society actually says that about when jesus told the disciples that some of them would see him coming in his kingdom before they died...).

If someone sent a cheque to Bethel with instruction that it be used for the Watchtower Pedophile Defense Fund, would they cash it? WIth donor rules about money being used as directed, could said donor get evidence of how the money was used....
just thinking out loud ...

Something I remember from Tishie's Ex-Jub Board
by ShirleyW inonce again, it seems i only refer to things that us 50+ ex dubs would remember, (for the record, i just hit the big 5-0 last month myself) but i remember a co being mentioned on her board that committed suicide that served the cong i used to attend in jamaica, queens.. his name was bro.
catanzaro, had the most pleasant sounding voice, couldve made a fortune doing voice over work im sure.
i heard through the grapevine that he killed himself, and of course when i asked my mom, she made believe that she never heard that story, and surely a faithful servant of jah would never do such a thing!

So no, this area isn't really affordable.

A wife was constantly complaining to her husband about being so small chested.
She treied everything, creams, pills, exercises ..nothing worked. She broke down crying and was asking her husband about getting surgery and implants.
the husband finally had enough. He told his wife, "dear all you need to do is twice a day, grab toilet paper and rub it against your chest. Your bust will grow."
She looked at him him in amazement, 'Really? What good will that do?'
He replied, "We'll you do that to your ass and look at how huge that is!"
Memorial services are being held for him this Tuesday.

A phone call to one of the Plaintiff's attorneys would settle this quickly if it has anything to do with the JW's. I'm thinking not but could be wrong.

This is all too surreal. What are you doing?..Where are you at..RIGHT NOW?
by BONEZZ inever have one of those really weird moments?
part melancholy...fleeting and just weird.
it's like certain uncontrollable elements come together to create an overwhelming sadness...or maybe it's just the caffeine.. so here i am sitting in a starbucks, in one of the comfy seats...been here since opening at 6am...when all of sudden i'm reading the post by uzzah, listening to the starbucks channel play georgia on my mind by ray charles...followed by i left my heart in san francisco...fighting back tears to no avail....and everything around me is hazy.

BONEZZ:
Sorry man if my post triggered that reaction. Sometimes life can have those 'tsunami-moments' I've been lucky enough to be just as overwhelmed by the positives of this life too.
Both experiences however can be unsettling. Sounds like you are managing it.
Keep up keeping up!

Why don't I see any pastors or clergy on this forum?
by moshe init just occurred to me that i have never seen a member on jwd who was a minister/priest/rabbi/monk,friar,shamman, etc.
maybe i have just missed their posts and then again, maybe they don't come here for some reason.
i know they must come in contact with jw's and ex-jw's all the time.

We should develop a few recipes for different kind of Pastor (pasta) sauces...
a garlic sauce for the vampire Pastors
The self righteous Catholic Priest angel hair pasta sauce made with Altar Boy Sausage (okay that was low even for me)
Born Again Pasta Sauce (leftovers from the night before) and re-baked
