  I understand where you are coming from and partially agree with your point of view.

  The criminal charge comment was based on the mother's actions of attemtping to rip the IV tubes from her daughter's arms and encouraging Bethany to do the same. This is irresponsible and has nothing to do with religion. It is reckless endangerment.

  I am not sure if your family went to that extreme (or would have) but if they had then yes they should be charged.

  I know in Canada, as a result of the Boer decision, it is going to be a much tougher time for a JW teen to be declared a mature minor from now on. So hopefully it will become a non-issue for kids and teens in the near future.

  i just had a jw come to my door and i had to threaten her to get her to leave!

  i told the woman right off i was 'apostate' and had no intention of changing it.

  she kept asking me personal questions which i told her were none of her business and she said she would have the elders come by and i told her that if they came by the better be wearing bullet proof vests!

  While I can appreciate your anger, your behaviour was criminal even in the Stae of Virginia.

  Under your statutes, "Assault by threat" or "uttering" are criminal offenses.

  The JW's are not worth it. As a renter you can charge them with trespassing. If this should happen again (to anyone) ask them to leave. If they refuse to leave they have committed a trespass. Call the Police and insist on filing a complaint or depending on the citizen's arrest laws of your State/Province technically you can place them under arrest holding them until the Police arrive.

  Make sure you know the process to arrest someone inside out or else the arrest will be thrown out.

  Threatening violence or worse threating to kill someone is pretty much guaranteed to be an illegal act in any civilized society. As it should be.

  How do you feel towards JW's and the organization ? on July 18,2003

  some of us have been out awhile, some of us may have just left, some of us still on the fence.. how do you feel towards the jw's and the organization right now, july 18, 2003.. compassion, hurt, hatred, anger, sorry, bitterness, helpless, robbed, cheated, or any other feeling you can think off.

  which one describes your situation best ???????????.

  all of us feel and handle situations with family differently, yet we are so much the same.. the day may come when family comes to you and says those dreaded words ........... " i can no longer have any association with you, not even on the telephone.".

  For the average Witness I feel pity.

  For those 'taking the lead' and beating the flock I have grown to loathe them. I will do what I can to assist those fighting against the 'leadership' and their legalistic monolith.

  As far as family members, I love them all regardless. I have come to realize that with my family, their happiness is all that is important to me. If they feel it necessary to shun me in order to obtain that happiness so be it. I am not saying that it doesn't eat me up wishing they were part of my daily life but they have to do what they feel they have to do. If they are happy then I am happy. What more could I really wish for my family?

  Selfishly sure I want them in my life.

  I also hope that one day they realize that my love for them is not conditional based on their religious choice.

  In the meantime I do my best to enjoy my life and all the things and people that are in my life, doing so to the fullest extent possible. I recognize my happiness is damned important too!

  The crazy part is the initial quote from the London paper could have been a great start to a phenomenal article

  Some models allow you to exchange short text messages, which "is the latest way for young people to feed their urge to communicate," says The Times of London.

  So why not use this as an opportunity to discuss how to encourage teens to communicate. How to build positive friendships with their peers as opposed to yet another controlling article limiting expression and the stated desire to communicate.

  Technically being a Christian, by strict definition is someone who claims to be a follower of Christ.

  It seems everyone has an opinion as to what exactly that claim is supposed to mean. Some are more dogmatic about it than others.

  In the sense that the JW's do claim to follow Jesus and acknowledge his existence and sacrifice then I suppose in that sense they are Christian.

  The term is so subjective in modern times however that it is essentially meaningless.
