  Sister-in-law reproved!

  well, it finally happened.

  my brother was talking to me and he told me his wife had been put on reproof (not sure if it was public or private).

  her mother caught her smoking and reported her to the elders.

  The difference between private and public reproof is how many people are aware.

  Of all the things to get in trouble over, smoking is not the one I'd pick. Go for broke and question authority! Ask, "Hey! Where is that Armageddon anyway? The one I did not go to college because of? The one I pioneered for 5 long years for no pay, while struggling with a full time job? Or best of all, how about the witness husband, who never worked and slept around on me? I married as per the organization required? In the Lord, right?

  CoC and Search of Christian Freedom came yesterday in the mail

  time to swallow the red pill.. right now both books remain unopened - sealed in the amazon.com box buried in a backpack in the trunk of my car.

  i feel like i'm smuggling drugs or something.. i'll be starting coc tomorrow ... .

  this is more of a vanity post than anything.

  I sounds like you just got something illegal.

  You have a right to make your own choices. Break free.

  I was able to make these choces w/o reading the Franz books. But it is definately my goal to get them read this spring before I go see my uncle. A long lost uncle due to his reading, and them leaving the Franz literature. Smart man he is. He has been missed.

  at this week's service meeting it a letter was read to all congregations in usa:

  bethel wants lawyers, lawyers specializing in tax law, and cpa's.

  if you are in any of these professions you were supposed to talk to the po that evening.

  Great posts and thoughts! Great to be back!

  You are right on target about the "spiritually strong youth" do not go to college. If they do, they do not go for degrees in law. Too bad! So sad! Wonder what kind of "brothers" they will be getting??? Hope they aren't related to Franz or anything. Better be careful when you invite intelligence in the the WTB&TS.

  JW Family...UPDATE! Please advise!

  my ex husband just told me that he will continue to facilitate visitation between my child and my jw family who is shunning me (see my other thread "i didn't think they could find another way to hurt me but...") he says i'm the one with the problem and that i should be "ashamed of myself".

  it's not like i thought he'd cooperate, but for him to stand there and tell me that he will allow my sister full access to my child and there's not a damn thing i can do (and probably, legally, that's right) makes my blood boil.

  makes me just want to swallow every fricking pill in the house.

  I certainly can understand your concerns as my daughter has to go to "meetings" for her visitation as well. I have been divourced for some time now and my daughter has learned to think for herself and to stand up for herself.

  She even went to a meeting dresses "goth". I am so proud.

  What's your best day of the week?

  we always say the week end are the nicest days of the week, cause most of us are off.

  but other than that, what is your nicest day of the week and for what reason?

  i always liked mondays and wednesdays and fridays because there were no meetings on these days.. how about for partying, drinking and having fun, which night did you rather?

  Monday is the best day for me. I work Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, so Monday is the busiest day (goes by fast) and my last day of the work week. Whoohoo!!!

  My nephew was thought to be mentally retarded but after being properly diagnosed as ADHD and put on ritalin.

  Now he is in TAG.

  There is a tendancy, or at least I have found, for former JW's to be like springs, compressed for so long, finally set free.

  You must establish a firm moral code after JW's to live by. One that you believe in and makes you happy and with a clear educated mind.

  Georgia is a great state. Savannah is a spendid example of the rich culture, not to mention Atlanta. Anything you may want to see, hear, taste, experience...it all there.

  And Georgia borders the Atlantic, what could be better than that?!!!

  Pioneers Assist Others program

  i was still an elder and i was present at the elder's school about three years ago when it was announced that the pao program would be re-introduced (it was evidently in practice some years before).. the program was a problem from day one.

  it was very hard pairing publishers with pioneers.

  publishers who were approached and asked to participate felt that they were being thought of as "weak".

  I must respond to this thread as I was regular pioneer for years and years. While the pioneer assist program was not in effect when I pioneered, I tried to help and encourage those I saw in need. Those with no dads, those with no money. Maybe I didn't make my time goal for the day, I felt I have really made a difference. Needless to say, this wasn't popular among the other pioneers and I was on my own in this goal.

  And for you info, in the many, many years I pioneeered I never once missed my 1000 hours goal.

  However, imagine if I had spent that valuable youthful years helping out in a soup kitchen, or better yet in the peace corp.

  But of course, I was young and a follower still.

  I have learned much since.

  I still try to contribute something back to the community even to this day.

  i was 9 years old when i took the plunge.

  i remember my baptism, mostly because, i was baptized twice.
