Great Dinner Last Night In Seattle!

just a quick "thank you" for all that showed up at tony roma's last night.. mr. cb and i had a great time meeting all of you!

it was a wonderful experience to put the "face" with the poster.. to any of you out there that have never attended a meetup---please do not hesitate on going.

it is worth the effort.

Just wanted to add my voice to the chorus expressing appreciation to Gretchen for organizing this, and BTW Gretchen, I still think we are shirt tail relations. I will quiz my mother in regards to our convoluted family tree (though I probably won?t mention the circumstances <grin>)

I really had a great time, and look forward to seeing you all again soon. I hope to make the St Patty?s day bash, as well as having some of you rescue me from the giant squid that keeps trying to eat me every time I go diving.

I would probably prefer any picture of me not be posted, but that has more to do with frightening young children than anything else.

Seattle Ex-JW Dinner Meet-up

after considerable discussion on where to go, lots of good advice, several attempts at reservations that did not pan out, i have finally reserved a place for dinner.. anyone in or near the seattle area please join us on february 7, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. at tony roma's at southcenter.

for those coming in from out of town, southcenter is located close to where i-5 and i-405 meet south of seattle.

type in this address into mapqwest or into yahoo maps or whatever other mapping program you use:.

I see you are from Oregon, I spent about three years in that state in the earlyish 90's. I was in Portland and then in the Eugene area. Maybe we know each other? I know, odds are against it but hey, worth a query.

P.S. I was in the Springfield hall in Eugene, and for the life of me, I can't remember the name of the hall I was in in Portland, but I lived in Old Town and the hall was across the River.

I love almost everything this man has done. Amazing stuff. I'm waiting for the chance to see him live. I also keep checking Amazon to see if they will ever release "Big Time", that concert movie he did a few years back.

Anyway, to add to the lyrics pileup, Here is one of my favorites, "Emotional Weather Report"

Actually, I have to pretend to be all hard boiled and stuff, to keep my image up. In actual fact I cry like a little girl with this movie and the end of "Casablanca". Tell anybody that and I'll rip your lungs out. <grin>

I think the article was meant to be pretty tounge in check. I like "It's a Wonderful Life" and think it's a great movie, even if it is a bit sachrine. However, reading the article I did realize I'd be a lot happier in Pottersville than Bedford Falls. But I'm going straight to hell anyway <grin>. Luckly, I'm trying to enjoy the ride as much as possible.

For an alternative take on Bedford Falls and Pottersville, I suggest the following article. I have to admit, I sort of think I'd fit into Pottersville much, much, better than Bedford Falls.

i have heard that there are purported to be quite a number of you apostate types in my area.

so far i'm inclined to believe this is just a rumor.

Though I keep a pretty low profile, I'm in Seattle too. Well, I was when I was a dub, now I'm just across the sound, but I work in Seattle. If we had an informal meetup I think I'm comfortable enough with my heathen scum status now to show.
