I've got MY books Crisis of Conscience and In Search of Christian Freedom. I'm going to be reading these books in the waiting room. I'm sure that the twins will try to censure me. The other ladies will know where I stand, and I'd defended my cause. I'm not going to sit there like a dog with my tail between my legs.

after a lenthy illness, 10 years in total, my mother, margaret stecko, passed away peacefully today surrounded by family.
she was 84, and leaves behind 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
she was a jw but never shunned me.

..............i am specifically refering to those raised in the truth by both parents and then one parent leaves.
firstly, any experiences of those who went through this would be appreciated.. mainly, i am just wondering what is the best way to influence your children against the jw mindset.
it is a concern to me that my children grow up believing some of the doctrines of the wts.
With my kids i should them the sheltered life they would lead. As Mary pointed out , make sure they have Birthday gifts and let them explore the world around them that it can be a fun place with Sports , Holidays ,etc,and when they get older that you the parent will help them with everyday troubles and not the wt. When ever you can, showed them that life is great with many things to explore and you will have set the doubt of the wt teaching in their heads. Don't cut short on what a 5 yr old can understand because they understand alot. Let them know that they do have a choice in life.
This is how i kept my kids becoming cult children and now they are all grown . Their dad is still a jw but none of my kids ever went back to a meeting past the age of 10 when they were old enough to say "no more".
we are all aware that major occurances are happening in this earth and the heavens that are causing scientist, biologist, epidemologist are all in a quandry as to why a large chunck of ice seperated from the canadian artic ice shelf the size of which is the equal of eleven thousand football fields.
beyond belief.. what a great concern for mankind and the earth.
the global warming, the ozone layer enlarging asteroids, and whatever else they can think of is definetly destroying our planet or at least changing the global warming.

some have asked me if i plan on being at the upcoming child abuse trials in california ... i have heard second hand they are tentatively scheduled for around april 2007. i will try and get this time frame confirmed, as it has been over 7-years since this issue commenced on ex-jw forums.
yes, i will be at those trials in which i am called as a "fact" witness, or as a type of "expert" witness.
i have not been told exactly when i will be called, or for how much testimony, but i have a general idea based on my previous depositions and preservation testimony.. i will keep you all posted as events develop.. jim whitney.

That is how jws get most or their recruits. They show them how loving they all are and then how jah will fix everything if they just conform to the jws BS , their lives will be changed forever ,and then the carrot of everlasting life.
When you think about it , why someone who has never been a jw, has a great life would want to be a jw. I really think if there was a poll taken you would see that most that were recruited were not happy in their lives and were searching for something to fulfill something that they felt they were lacking . Then along comes a jw that plays show and tell of all the wonders jah will give them if only they become the only one true religion.

if you had info that could possibly make your jw see the inside of a jc would you let the society know?
this would be a jw who does not completely understand nor believe what jc's are all about.
i understand the backlash to doing so, as well as how it could make said jw become more 'spiritual' (as if that's possible)..
