Thanks for the offer RunningMan. I'll keep It in mind. I'll wait and see what happen's with c of c. Maybe I'm naive, but as hopeless as this seems and as brainwashed as she is I still think things are going to work out. I have no clue how but I still think It'll work out. You guy's have been my only support and I am very grateful to you all. I hope I'll be able to post some wedding photos on this board.

Well, I gave the love of my life c of c last week and guess what? She still hasn't read It. I have never seen anyone so afraid of a book. She's going to try to read It, but isn't making any promises. I know what everyone means when they speak of that invisible wall that comes up when you even slightly challenge their beliefs. She's convinced this book is the work of satan which anyone of sound mind knows that isn't true. She has absoloutly no trust in herself, only jehovah. I told her nothing bad was going to happen to her and that I am her for her in any way I can be and that this book wasn't written out of anger. I can only pray that she will just read enough to have something click in her mind and make her want to finish It. I have never had to deal with the frustration and aggravation that I have had to deal with the past six month's. I expected It, I just hope It's not for nothing. With each passing day my hair gets a little grayer, And I'm only 27!!!

I really appreciate all the advice and support you guy's have given me. It's calmed a lot of the fears I had in giving her these books because they're probably my only hope of getting her out. God forbid if things don't work out ( I know in my heart they will), I'm considering becoming a witness then immediatly get disfellowed so I can come on this board and bitch (LOL). I hold no grudge against witnesses in general.They are innocent victims in my eyes. It's the higher-ups that are the source of my frustration.

Thanks for the threads U R . On a somewhat humorous sidenote. About ten years ago my brother's apartment was broken into by jw's a day after showing up at his door step with literature.They took everything but the kitchen sink. Great crowd my ass.

Well, I gave my hope to be future wife crisis of conscience and in search of christian freedom yesterday. I told her to take her time and read them with an open mind and to trust her heart. She told me before that if she had any doubts she would leave the WT. After reading both books and reading every post on this subject I can't see her staying in. Right now she's out doing the door-to-door thing which makes me sick to my stomach. I guess all I can do now is sit back and wait. I'm hoping she'll come around after she reads them, but I don't really know what to expect.

"COC"=any effect?
by mackey ini posted about a week ago on another forum about a very close friend of mine whom i am trying to get out of the org.
she was baptized when she was 15 and she's now 24. i want to marry her,but i have to get her out first, which i know all to well is extremely difficult.
through extensive research it seems to me my only chance is to get her to read "coc" and "isocf", which she has agreed to do.

I just remembered that when I asked her to read the books she said that she was afraid they would "corrupt" her mind (lol). My question is with the obvious control the wt has over her mind can the information in these books open her eyes at all? From reading the posts about Ray Franz's books It seems that they almost always have a positive impact on the reader, Though It sometimes takes a while.

crisis of conscience
by mackey ini am not a jw but a very close friend of mine is.we are so close that i have told her that i want to marry her ( if she leaves the org).
i have researched jw's quite a bit in recent months and have realized this book is probably my only chance at reaching her ( i also have isocf ).
she has reluctantly agreed to read them because she trust's me.

Believe me guys, I have thought long and hard about the problems that could occur from me going on with this. Things could turn out really well for us or it could turn out very badly. I try to focus on the good because she knows I love her and I am here for her no matter what. The fact that I'm not a witness and she still has enough trust in me to be honest with me must mean something. One of things I've noticed is the total lack of love in her life, so much so that she really does'nt know what it means to love someone. She has such a feeling of worthlessness about herself. She blames herself for everything and feels she does'nt deserve to be cared about ( very common traits among jw's ). I feel I'm making progress with her and am trying to take it slowly because I don't want to scare her away. If i can only find a way to get her to trust herself I know things will turn out allright. Thanks for the links, I'll be sure to use them. I hope our relationship progresses to the point where I can show her this site because It could be a very valueable resource for both of us.

You guys are a lot more supportive than the last board I was on. Here are a few more details on my situation. She was baptized when she was 15. Her parents are jw's, but her three sisters are not. I hope I can also help her parents, but all of my focus is on her now. She told me if she had any doubts about being a jw, she would'nt do it. Like many jw's, she has devoted her entire life to serving jehovah and reading this book could have some very negative impact on her. But I love her and I have no intention of turning my back on her. I know in my heart I'm doing the right thing.

I feel that she needs to know the real "truth" because she's only 24 and has her whole life ahead of her. I know I may sound like I'm doing this more for me but I care very much for her and I want her to be happy, which she isn't right now. I would greatly appreciate any support or suggestions anyone can offer.
