  Do You Think People Have Forgotten About 9/11?

  after all these years, it seems to me that people do not properly take note of what happened on this date in 2001. for some, it’s like nothing major happened.

  Yes ... people are forgetting about 9/11, especially those not affected.

  It's been about 25 years since someone born back then could really remember it in any reasonable way (think 18 years ago plus the child was 7 at the time). Unless people are directly affected, they forget things over time.

  Think of the Vietnam War, Korean War, WWII, etc. As time passes, things are forgotten or at least delegated to a part of our psyche that finds little relevance of the event(s) in our everyday lives.

  Annual Meeting

  my uber cousin and wife are going back to wallkill this weekend for the annual meeting since they have a daughter and son in law in the inner sanctum so they are always invited.

  cousin said it was going to be broadcast from patterson to wallkill.

  anyone hear anything else about subject matter etc?.

  Maybe there will be a "clarification" on the people who died at Sodom and Gomorrah ... lol.

  But I did hear from one of my Bethel contacts that the word up there is that new publications will be released during the annual meeting instead of the regional conventions.

  Apparently, this is to reduce costs since now you can just release a new hard copy of a book to several thousand attendees and tell the minions that there is a loving provision to request it later or preferably just download it later.

  Our congregation will be deleted

  last night was the co's visit.

  prior to his part, an elder had a part on following theocratic direction.

  it was about our congregation being deleted (there are 2 sharing this hall) and the people and territory being divided up to the 4 other surrounding ones.. they say it is not about numbers but about making best use of resources.

  WT Teaching That You Can't Leave Behind

  after posting on another thread it became apparent to me that it can be difficult for some ex jws to totally shake off all wt teaching , even after leaving the org.

  do you still feel guilty going into a church for a wedding or a funeral .

  can you bring yourself to celebrate birthdays or christmas .

  What Is Trump Doing with China now and his supporters that smell like a Walmart?

  isn't trump shooting himself in the foot when he is on the verge of (or already in) a trade war with china?

  isn't walmart like 95% chinese stuff?.

  won't there be a backlash when many of his supporters that want to upgrade to indoor plumbing see how much it costs with all the tariffs?

  I'm confused.

  If, as Trump has said repeatedly, that China is paying for the tariffs, then why would it affect the prices we pay?

  Wouldn't it stand to reason that if prices do or have risen, that China is NOT paying the tariffs?

  I don't see how Trump can have it both ways.

  I don't understand why Trump is holding back some of the tariffs until after Christmas.

  Since China is paying for the tariffs, why not have the additional tariffs go in immediately and maybe add another 10-20% on top of that and make the Chinese pay even more.

  It's great to have a country like China help pay down our national debt!

  the fact that there are pomi ex-jws who have been disfellowshiped or inactive for years who still live in constant fear of armageddon indicates that watchtower will manage to exist in one way or another for years, if not decades, to come.

  Technically yes.
  

  But from what I have ever seen, the Borg does not report number of current members who are baptized. It reports average publishers and peak publishers.

  There are many baptized persons who are not publishers and many publishers who are not baptized.

  Obviously, a person who is DF/DA is not considered a publisher.
