  Sports Games Postponed Because of Police Shootings

  Real football, aka soccer, is what the entire rest of the world watches

  I really try to watch it. I have a couple of Messi shirts I bought in Barcelona a couple of years ago.

  But I get sick and tired of watching young, strong athletes in soccer rolling around on the ground, getting touched by someone, and looking like they need to have their leg amputated.

  In American football, you get hit by a guy running full speed, your helmet goes flying off, you land on the ground, a fractured rib or two, then get up and laugh at the other guy and spit in his face. You don't roll around and pretend you are injured. Play golf or tennis instead.

  You live in Canada. Do you think when a guy playing hockey without half of his teeth gets smashed into the boards and "plays dead" on the ice? No, he gets up like a person with some self-respect, throws his gloves off, and beats the shit out of the other guy.

  I guess soccer players are too fragile when it comes to contact sports. I can't picture rugby guys acting like that. Soccer guys are always hurt.

  I don't get it. I really don't get it.

  In the pre-game thing if you want to take a knee during the national anthem, break wind, moon the flag, break dance, whatever. I really don't care.

  Just play the games.

  Does Anybody Here Sympathize With The Looters That Cause Destruction?

  i realize some here are diehard democrats.

  whether you are democrat, republican or independent, do you support any of these looters that cause mayhem and destruction for their cause?

  i have heard some people sympathize with these law breakers saying they understand why they do what they do and leave it at that.. of course i wonder how they would feel if their own property was burnt or stolen or destroyed..

  It's sad in many ways, but there is no "news" anymore. In the US, we used to have 3 choices for the evening news: Walter Cronkite (CBS), Huntley Brinkley (NBC) and I forget who on ABC.

  Now, with all the options, people just find a news outlet that they agree with. In order to get an audience, you have to take a hard position, one way or the other, to get viewers.

  As Paul wrote in 2 Timothy, many people like to have their "ears tickled". Unfortunately, I think that is where most of us are today. We simply want someone to agree with our personal opinions, not necessarily report the facts.

  whether you are democrat, republican or independent, do you support any of these looters that cause mayhem and destruction for their cause?

  i have heard some people sympathize with these law breakers saying they understand why they do what they do and leave it at that.. of course i wonder how they would feel if their own property was burnt or stolen or destroyed..

  Dead or alive, the grill works really well though, especially on salmon fillets. Cooks both sides at the same time.

  Just marinate the fillets with some butter and a dill vinegar for about 20 minutes. Get some GOOD white vinegar (not the cheap stuff) and put some fresh dill and a small hot pepper in it for a couple of weeks. It will then be ready. Some seasoning (I use Old Bay) and butter and put it on the grill.

  As mentioned, the George Floyd grill saves time since it cooks both sides at the same time.

  These biased newspapers and news outlets just won’t report the truth.

  Yes, people today just tune to a channel that tells them what they want to hear. See a shooting on video in the street and one channel claims it was horrible due to the person was unarmed and the next channel claims he was threatening the police and it was totally justified.

  Pick your channel for what you want to hear. Where is "news" today instead of opinion?

  I think the killing in Minneapolis several weeks ago of George Foreman just brought things to a head.

  I find it abhorrent. It makes as much sense as winning the baseball World Series, Superbowl, or NBA Championship and then setting parts of your city on fire.

  In the case of these shootings, thankfully we now have people carrying cameras (phones) and can document what is happening.

  The only thing that really disturbs me is how many times these things have happened, such as these police shootings and murders against citizens prior to the time everyone had a camera.

  But the whole thing, both the shootings/murders of people and then the response of destroying personal property is disgusting.

  anyone notice at begining of rejoice convention that chairmen says "greetings or good day bro and sisters leaving out any who are not brothers and sisters the pharisee has struck again so you are greeted only if your considered a bro or sister.

  because he that says a greeting is sharer in wicked deeds any body catch that?.

  The chairman did welcome everyone but the sign language interpreter in the lower right corner of the screen mooned the audience when DF/DA people were mentioned.

  Rubadun what do you do to improve the lives if those around you? ...... So what do you do to separate yourself? Do you donate, employ or assist anyone?

  After some comments here, I will tone things down, I promise. But it is painful in some ways when you have a trunkful of material and it seems to grow daily.

  In any case, for a last go-round, in answer to your question about what what I do to improve the lives of those around me, a few fleeting thoughts come to mind:

  - We can search all over for happiness but there is really no need to look any further than our own front doors.

  - There are so many things we can do in our own communities to help not only others, but ourselves.

  - Start a small library with laptops for disadvantaged youths that may not have access to many new technologies at home.

  - Discuss with your dentist on how to make your teeth more attractive.

  - Visit a dairy farm and learn how milk is handled for delivery to stores.

  - Plan a series of window displays in the front window of your home promoting home safety.

  The list goes on and on.

  But I am dialing back. I will focus more on the time, times and half a time stuff, seventy weeks of years, 607 BC, the unclean and hated bird, all the dreams, and whatever else is the topic du jour of the week. I guess I have offended some.
